I think I must invoke this kind offer, if you still feel up to it, for this wonderful and unappreciated gem! http://www.videosift.com/video/Playing-For-Change-Song-Around-the-World-Stand-By-Me

Today Was a Good Day Yo!

The Gods Desire a New Crossword, Mortals! (Religion Talk Post)

thinker247 says...

I'll make the crossword so hard that nobody but myself will be able to answer it. Then, after a few millennia, mankind will worship me for creating such a simple crossword that nobody really understands.

Theologists and scholars will attempt to decipher my crossword, but they will argue with each other over whether or not I meant it to be literal or figurative.

Different groups of indigenous people will fight over my ups and downs, killing each other and bombing buses in order to impose their version of my word upon the other.

They will create weapons of mass destruction in order to root out the infidels who would read my crosswords "wrong."

Their hatred for each other because of their different interpretations of my crossword will reach a boiling point, until Matthew Broderick accidentally starts World War 3, and the entire planet will be wiped clean of any form of life.

Then all of humanity will stand before me in judgment, and they will finally know the answers to my crossword.

But it will be too late for those answer wrong, for I will say, "Depart from me, for you are not a true cruciverbalist!"

And I will send them to a fiery pit of torment and anguish, called "CaptainPlanet420's Brain."

ALL HAIL THE GOD OF CROSSWORDS!

Stand By Me -- beautiful international performance

Big fat update here, because I just saw all of the comments left after my last one. I'll keep this simple.

"Nevermind."

That's where this stands for me now.
I too liked the old choggie. I think he needs some injectible vitamin b12 to repair the nerve damage from all the N2O, but that's beside the point.
I had been talking with him outside of videosift since summertime and we had some good chats.
He asked me to help him get his account back and I told him I would try.
As I was trying, he basically yelled at me for having some kind of "good guy" campaign (which it never even approached) and I decided it was too much of a negative to interact with the guy any more.

Peace out

Sarah Palin look-a-like goes too far?

HollywoodBob says...

Back in the Straight Talk Express afterward:

John McCain: Tell Sarah to stop hamming it up when I talk about her.

Anonymous staffer: Sir?

JM: Standing behind me she was waving and acting all fake modest.

AS: Sir, Gov. Palin is in Ohio.

JM: Huwwhhaaaaaaaaa?

Penn & Teller - Bullshit - Gun Control

gorgonheap says...

Ok, nothing is happening with this in ST. can we finally *return this? Because all people are doing now is whining over why we should take away guns from sensible people and continue to let the creations of society obtain them illegally regardless of these unenforced laws that don't do shit to deter crime.

Edit: If there was ever a need to overthrow our country's government, do you honestly think that a corrupt system would listen to a gathering of peaceful protesters? Every revolution that has given birth to a new form of government has been obtained by the shedding of blood and born in violence and uncertainty. It's not ideal for anyone but it's the truth and it's the way the world works. I'll die with my last line of protection in defense of my family, and freedom before I'll see someone take away the only thing standing between me and a life of misery and hopelessness.

The Princess Bride--Battle of Wits

Never mess with a Sicilian when DEATH is on the line!

Meathead's greatest movie. Well, except for maybe "This is Spinal Tap". Oh, and we mustn't forget "Stand By Me". "Misery" was pretty good too... mmmmm, and "A Few Good Men" passes muster, despite the presence of that raving lunatic Tom Cruise.

The above list of films barely balances out the travesty that was "When Harry Met Sally", however.
