One might be tempted to say "Well he said all this shit in the morning, that's not when all this happened." True, but around 1:55 pm ALMOST IMMEDIATELY after he tweets this :

Here's the ALMOST IMMEDIATELY part (1:49:54 - 1:55) (almost exactly 5 minutes after his tweet)

1:55 p.m. The U.S. Capitol Police are evacuating some congressional office buildings due to “police activity” as thousands gather outside the Capitol to protest the electoral vote. Police told congressional staff members they should evacuate the Cannon House Office Building and the building that houses the Library of Congress. It wasn’t immediately clear what specifically sparked the evacuation. A police spokeswoman did not immediately respond to calls and emails seeking comment. Thousands of people have descended on the U.S. Capitol as Congress is expected to vote to affirm Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential win. Videos posted online showed protesters fighting with U.S. Capitol Police officers as police fired pepper spray to keep them back.

Notre Dame Faculty Pens Open Letter To Delay Hearings

Mordhaus says...

I've said it before and I will say it again. Regardless of death bed wishes and/or the election, the sitting President has the right to nominate a SCOTUS pick. Note, I said nominate, not confirm. That is the job of the Senate.

Even if (likely when, it seems) Trump loses, until the end of his term he is able to nominate a SCOTUS pick. Obama was allowed to pick Merrick Garland, but the Senate was Republican. They chose to not confirm him. Even after Trump was elected, Obama could have picked a person for SCOTUS. The Senate would have made the confirmation decision.

In this case, the Senate leans Republican, so the pick will likely be confirmed. It might not be what some people want, but it is legal.

Buttigieg Shuts Down Loaded Fox Question

newtboy says...

That's mother banging Pence's own sleepy words.....but I was talking about your mega job creator video from last December. You don't think people are WATCHING the ridiculous Trump commercials you keep posting, do you?!?

It bears noting that of those jobs some people have found in the Trump recession, 1/2 pay 50% or less than the job they lost to the Trump flu depression.

Also worth noting, the drop in poverty numbers are due mostly to democrats pushing for higher minimum wages, something Trump and republicans railed against, not due to anything he did.

Funny how Trump still blames lack of raking and management on the fires when he's had plenty of time to do something about it. Given the majority of the fires are happening in FEDERALLY MANAGED FORESTS!

Moron doesn't even realise he's blaming himself after he tried the same shit last time.

Fucking idiot thinks a 50yard firebreak will stop an uncontrolled fire front. Ember strike starting spotfires miles ahead of the front but yeah that 50 yard clear strip will do a lot.

TAC 20 years of effectively, somewhat graphic PSAs

BSR says...

They could not have picked a better piece of music.

Your eyes, your ears, your nose, your mouth, your skin. Your senses. These are all how the people you love get into your heart over time. It's how you get into the hearts of the ones you love.

I pick up many dead bodies in a week. Some people tell me how they could never do a job like this. From terrible crash scenes, crime scenes to nursing homes and at home deaths.

Dead people don't suffer. The pain is gone. The living suffer. I see it all the time.

If you lose someone you love and your heart suffers unbearably, remember your senses. The one you lost is still in your heart. That is where you put them. Alive within you. Over time that is where you put them for safe keeping. Look for them there.

When I pick up a dead body my empathy and sympathy is with the living, the family and friends. I'm just picking up an empty container where someone once lived but has now moved into the hearts of the ones they loved.

That will help with the pain you may suffer. Know that the ones you love are already in your heart and you in theirs.

That is why love.

Is Success Luck or Hard Work? | Veritasium

newtboy says...

So that's another way luck out preformed hard work for me.

I'm just proving that it's not an absolute. Some people find pure luck with zero effort. On average, you do best with both, but there are exceptions.

For a certain few, yes, waiting for luck can be the best method, not for most.

That's certainly the intelligent method, but no, you don't HAVE to prepare yourself, sometimes success just falls in your lap.
For example; It took zero preparation to be prepared to inherit money, not one whit, pretty damn lucky if you ask me.
Second example; most people require preparation to be successful at tests. I took the GED 1 1/2 years after quitting school to work, I didn't prepare one minute, I scored 98 percentile on every test in the pack. That's not from hard work, it's from being lucky enough to have a functional brain and decent memory...I didn't work hard in school, I always claimed to learn by osmosis, I was in AP classes when I left to go work.
Third and most obvious example; Through pure luck, I was born white. I find that to be incredibly lucky considering the roadblocks being any other race puts up, especially in America, especially in the deep south where I was raised, even more so in recent years but it's always been true. I certainly didn't work hard to achieve whiteness, I've worked hard to not take advantage of it at other's expense, probably unsuccessfully.

Some people don't even NEED preparation to succeed during disasters, you often just need to be flexible and quick to adapt, that a might be from preparing, or might be natural traits you're born with.

vil said:

Not all of them, only the ones that are able to take advantage of the situation, to adapt. Many live and die miserable anyway.

I was thinking more in the line of what does one do to be successful? If luck is so important is the most effective path to just wait for luck? Obviously not.

You have to prepare yourself to be able to take advantage of opportunities in life and/or adapt to disasters.

At this point in time, I have recovered approximately 20 covid bodies since they started falling. So far no problems due to following guidelines from experts.

First, let me tell you I respect you and what you are doing. I also see that your efforts with bob are tearing you down. When you start writing in all caps it tells me you are trying to yell through a brick wall. Funny thing about walls though. Sometimes it's hard to know if you are on the inside or outside.

Just know that some people can't be reached. I'm sure bob has heard all the facts but yet chooses to go his own way for whatever reason. This tells me that bob hasn't had enough life experiences to make good decisions. Whether he is just a troll or really believes what he says it still comes back to his life experiences or lack of.

He starts fires and you rush around with a bucket of water trying to put out the flames. Your efforts are commendable and I respect you for that.

What I don't care for is what he is doing to you. You don't deserve it and I think as long as you just put the facts out there, everyone can pick up their own bucket and help put out fires.

Have faith that one day bob will be touched by reality when someone he loves is taken away. Then your words may be heard for the first time with him. That is when he may realize for the first time your efforts were to protect him and others. You won't need to tell him "I told you so". He will remember.

If you don't believe bob can change how will he ever believe it?

In the meantime keep protecting the ones you love. They deserve your time more than bob does. If you believe bob deserves more of your time, give him a way to find the door back to you.

I'm on your side.

War On USPS

newtboy says...

Yes, people here think for themselves and analyze information from multiple sources to come to a conclusion. There is no other possible conclusion if you see the facts, DeJoy hobbled the post office to interfere with it's ability to facilitate an election under quarantine. His actions did not save the post office money, they cost money....lots of money, and did not enhance the ability of the post office to deliver mail, they severely hampered it.

We aren't brainless cult members who believe a repeatedly convicted con man over evidence. Some people will believe anything that consummate liar tells them over logic, reason, and their own eyes and ears.

Propaganda Unfit To Print

newtboy says...

Oh Fuck @bobknight33....
Your guy here is attempting to talk shit about New Zealand because some people lost jobs, 229000, most of which are in tourism and will return, but America lost well over 40000000, a huge number of which are gone permanently.
New Zealand has had 22 deaths, America, which fudges the numbers worse than China, has a reported 170000 and screaming upwards, the true number is likely twice that.
As for civil rights, they're not the same as America, no one took their rights you morons.
And again, you incredible fuckwits, days after ENDING lockdown they were reinfected, the lockdown worked.
New Zealand has different laws, and while the prime minister can delay the election in New Zealand legally, Trump absolutely can not, no matter the circumstances. Also, it's abundantly clear New Zealand isn't postponing to benefit any one candidate , but Trump was.
It's also abundantly clear New Zealand will hold their election. If Trump had his way, most people agree 2018 would be the last presidential election of his lifetime, after which he would designate Jarred (because as a woman, Ivanka couldn't possibly do it) to inherit the throne.
Besides, Trump wants to postpone not due to Covid, which he says is already over, is safe, is just a cold, only infects Democrats, only kills people already on their death beds, and is a hoax scheduled to miraculously disappear November 4th, he wants to postpone due to polls....or can you admit all that bullshit about how safe it is to vote in person is just that, utter bullshit, and he should be trying to help make vote by mail work to ensure maximum possible numbers of safe votes are counted, but no, he's both trying to postpone and saying it's safe and doing everything possible to make vote by mail AND absentee voting (which are the same thing, exactly the same checks and regulations despite Trump's lies) unreliable if not impossible.
He seems to forget absentee ballots, the vote by mail he's trying to get Republicans to use, also use the USPS. You can't cast absentee ballots if you can't cast vote by mail ballots. The only difference between them is absentees must claim in person is a hardship, otherwise they're exactly the same with the same verification processes.

More *lies and bullshit propaganda. The desperation is growing. Just fucking ridiculously dumb.

Joe Biden Mental state

newtboy says...

Looked at right, life is a game.

Some people think the point is to win as much and by as big a margin as possible every time, no matter what that takes or who it hurts.
Some try to achieve this by being above average players, other people try to hide from the referee and cheat as much as possible.
Some turn in their own teammates when they cheat.
Some people just want to hog control of the ball, win or lose, others are happy to just be on the field.

I think it's about the kind of player you want to be....that's what will be remembered about you, not your hardest hits but how often you helped opponents to their feet afterwards.
