DNC Staffer Assists Double Voting In Support of Obama

NetRunner says...

For those who don't already know project "Veritas", it's the same fine people behind the ACORN tapes, the Shirley Sherrod tape, etc.

It's the whole Andrew Breitbart / James O'Keefe smear project.

Andrew Breitbart is Dead - Cenk on Breitbart's Legacy

High Tech Lynching? Just Say No

dystopianfuturetoday says...

Really? After 4 years of Tea Party racism about "Obama the Kenyan", Obama's birth certificate, Obama's radical black minister Wright, Obama the secret Muslim, Obama the terrorist, attacks on Acorn, Shirley Sherrod, the southern strategy and the popularity of unrepentant right wing bigots like James O'Keefe and Andrew Breitbart?.

Not to mention the weird irony that this commercial against 'racism' only targets other black people.

Fox News' Jarring 180 on Shirley Sherrod Coverage

Yogi says...

>> ^quantumushroom:

Compared to the nonstop liberal bolshevik crap about every other Tea Partier being a klan member, this barely rates mentioning.
Or maybe the left's just pizzled someone's bitin' their moves by taking a video clip completely out of context.

I will go to bat for you when you make a post something better. You always post in prejudged tangents that don't venture anything interesting. I've never seen you challenge your ideas or try to defend them with facts or rational thought. You know the answer going in, and that's just cheap.

Think...and you will be more respected for it.

Olbermann Special Comment on Shirley Sherrod

Throbbin says...

You greasy sack of shit. Yes, the Obama folks fired her, and there is plenty of blame for them. But even after this has been clarified you still try to peddle that garbage.

Check this out: http://mediamatters.org/research/201007220004

AFTER she says she referred him to a white lawyer, she then talks about her own narrow-mindedness, and how she recognized it and overcame it. You purposely leave this out of your commentary. She then helped him out and that white man now credits her to this day for helping him keep his farm. You would want people to focus on the NAACP nodding their heads in agreement without mentioning the context (Sherrod's father having been murdered by white men, among many others at the time).

You do not have any shame Bobknight. You and Breitbart both.

>> ^bobknight33:

Andrew Breitbart posted the video on his site Monday at 8:18 a.m. By mid-afternoon Shirely Sherrod had been fired. Fox News didn’t report the story until later that evening. Who’s to blame for her firing? Fox News? Breitbart? That is absurd.
By mid afternoon of the same day, Ms. Sherrod’s boss, Cheryl Cook, called her and fired her because “you’re going to be on Glenn Beck tonight”. In fact, she did not appear on Beck that night. He made no mention of her whatsoever. She did appear on Beck the following night though, and he was DEFENDING her. The first mention of the Shirley Sherrod tape on Fox News was on Bill O’Reilly’s show which aired at 8 p.m. That’s almost five hours AFTER Sherrod was fired.
The edited video posted by Andrew Breitbart on his website, BigGovernment.com, wasn’t edited to exclude Sherrod’s racial “redemption”. The video that appeared on his site actually INCLUDED Sherrod saying “That’s when it was revealed to me that it’s about poor versus those who have. And not so much about white….it is about white and black… but it’s not…you know… it opened my eyes because I took him to one of his own.” On his website, Breitbart says:
In the first video, Sherrod describes how she racially discriminates against a white farmer. She describes how she is torn over how much she will choose to help him. And, she admits that she doesn’t do everything she can for him, because he is white. Eventually, her basic humanity informs that this white man is poor and needs help. But she decides that he should get help from “one of his own kind”. She refers him to a white lawyer.
Sherrod’s racist tale is received by the NAACP audience with nodding approval and murmurs of recognition and agreement. Hardly the behavior of the group now holding itself up as the supreme judge of another groups’ racial tolerance.

Been hitting the olde Ctrl+c Ctrl+v again i see, you should at least cite the source so you don't misrepresent your position being anything other than borrowed.

Anyway Keith does have a nack for verbal pwnage, and this video should be on the top if just for the verbal beatdown.

Maddow: How the Right Uses Racial Fears to Win Votes

Winstonfield_Pennypacker says...

Pot - meet kettle. The left has been playing race politics for decades. Millionth verse - same as the first. The overwhelming evidence is that the political left tosses out accusations of racism as a means of trying to take the political right off message when the left is getting the stuffing beaten out of it. The polls currently have the democrats trembling in their boots. Almost 70% of the people identify more with the Tea party than with the Democrats. Congress approval is at 11%. Unnamed Republican beats Obama in polls. Projections show Democrats losing both House and Senate. Tea Party message resonating. And - on cue - out comes the charge of racism.

With a collective yawn from the public. You can only cry that the sky is falling, or the wolf is coming so many times before people get the message that the messenger is a dip-stick and a tool. Such is the case with this whole race discussion now.

Both the left and the right are now playing a game of Mexican standoff. Pointing fingers - but only at the groups they don't like. If racism is 'bad' then it's bad no matter who does it, and both sides are now using 'race' in a way that makes them race-baiters. Get back to the issues folks. Lower taxes. Smaller government. Fiscal responsiblity. Jobs. This is what people care about - not these fake accusations of racism and all the crocodile tears.

And Sherrod? She's was a racist, and still is a racist. Follow the money. She's a race baiter, and she's in it for the money. Get a load of her on GMA today? People oppose Obamacare because he's black... Obama doesn't understand BLACK people like her... First BLACK president... Blah blah blah. She's a racist sleazemonger, and she deserved to be fired 100X over. She didn't deserve to be hired in the first place.

Okay, so you've copy-pasted the same two paragraphs to all three Maddow clips.

If the Breitbart video and Fox News' reporting on it didn't have anything to do with Sherrod's firing, why did they really fire her?

If it did have to do with the firing, why presume that the pranksters bear no culpability, simply because they successfully duped someone in the administration?

I agree with you and Glenn Beck.

I just thought it was funny that he was making essentially the same point. Of course he thought it was all an orchestrated conspiracy by space Nazis to distract people from the financial reform bill.

>> ^NetRunner:

I just saw Glenn Beck make the same point about this being a distraction from the financial reform bill. You guys are kindred spirits. Still though, Vilsack taking the fall for this and claiming no White House involvement smells like rich bullshit.

Geeze, everyone's going nuts lately. Ok, so I'm Glenn Beck for saying that the media isn't focusing on what's important.
Also, Obama is both prone to making rash decisions without all the facts, and a coward who'd hang out a member of his cabinet to keep from having to take his lumps in front of the American people. Not to mention, his political team is naive enough to think that throwing us a scapegoat will insulate him from the political fallout.
If I had a blackboard I'd draw an org chart of the US government, and try to guess at how many reporting levels separate Shirley Sherrod from Barack Obama (I'm thinking ten would be a safe minimum number), and point out that Vilsack is only the next rung down from Obama...and then I'd just slap a Hitler moustache on them all, and say "they're just purging the racists, the way the Nazis purged the Jews!"
