Ok, this creeped me out too, and brought a variety of responses.
The silliest: I couldn't help but wonder if passing motorists say, "Domo arigato, Mrs. Roboto".

(before anyone flames: yes, I know Japanese isn't the dominant language in Korea. It's just a lame joke, lighten up)

Not necessarily so Tman. I think the song was actually satire about the fear at the time of Japanese industrialisation. They were very adept in 'cost effective' mass production and much manufacturing moved there, taking away American labour. I'm not an expert on the subject, but I remember seeing films about that sorta thing.
