Sarah Palin as VP? (Election Talk Post)
Palin is a creationist, and her resume (How do you get the stress mark?) is so thin that it includes her PTA membership and her basketball playing. What was McCain thinking?

What do you think I've been saying all this time! I can't believe you waited this long. Watch it again. Like all great films it improves on repeat viewings.

Hey Sarz, Issy and I finally saw TWBB and it was bloody brilliant. Very Kubricky. PTA is genius.

Fiona Apple - Across The Universe
This is the best Apple video I've ever seen. PTA is a genius. I'm assuming that there is a lot of compositing going on here; nobody could flinch as little as she does when blobs of ice cream are going splat on the wall next to your head.
PT Anderson talks about film vs. digital
one of the biggest problems at the time PTA said this was the lack of sufficient contrast sensitivity in video camcorders, which was one of the biggest reasons why things shot on video could not attain the "film look". however, with the recent advances in HD-video camcorders and the increasing affordability of them for individual consumers, that major barrier has been for the most part brought down. granted, lack of adequate lighting, camera setup, boom mics, or post-production/editing can and does still sufficiently ruin many videos, but it is now much easier to get a video to resemble film. when done well and transferred later to film and projected, the differences are slight.
so i guess what i'm saying is with greater tech innovations, i disagree with him about the method of shooting a subject, but agree with him completely about the method of projection and its memorizing abilities.

I'll upvote for the possible discussion, but I think PTA is wrong on this one.
PTA knockout
YAY snopes!:
http://www.snopes.com/photos/odd/smackmouth.asp
not PTA, although that would be much more awesome), but a dispute between families after one member hit the other family member's car, killing two of the 3 people inside. the woman receiving the smackdown is from the side with the hit-er, and she is suggesting that one of the victims (deceased) had been smoking pot the night in question.
violence is bad, mmmkay? but in my book this was justified, you just don't disrespect the dead in front of their family.

Thanks, blankfist! PTA for the win.

The Films of Paul Thomas Anderson
Punch-Drunk Love is my favorite PTA flick. All the rest are second by photo finish.
Aimee Mann - Wise Up {live}
"Now that I met you, would you object to never seeing me again?" is the line PTA used from one of Aimee Mann's songs.

Daniel Day-Lewis Wins Best Actor
Indeed. Though I would have loved to see PTA win for direction, I guess if you have to lose, losing to the Coen brothers isn't so bad. I was also really really happy to see Robert Elswit win.
Magnolia trailer
Wonderful film. I also need to re-watch this. Boogie Nights as well.
I can't wait to see that new PTA flick with Daniel Day Lewis.

I can't help it man, it was just so boring. The characters were relatively unlikable, and the movie itself was just kind of painful to sit through to me. It felt like it was totally pointless.

JAPR, I can understand not liking PTA, he is a love him or hate him kind of director, but EVERYONE likes Little Miss Sunshine!?!?!
