National Geographic: Fight Science Ending Section - Katana

Equilibrium - Not Without Incident

Sylvester_Ink says...

Yeah, that anime was Grenadier. That fight scene was a direct ripoff of the Dupont/Preston fight. There are two other anime that have EQ fight-scene ripoffs, one of which is frame-by-frame. (There's also a Power Rangers-like show that has a similar fight scene.)
And in all honesty, I found the fight scenes to be quite incredible. You have to remember that this movie had a very, VERY small budget ($20 million, I think) and that a lot of the fight scenes were done in very few takes. (One was done in one take.) Plus the movie wasn't oversaturated with fight scenes, so each one felt awesome.

Hey I'm happy to have evoked such a brazen tossing-about of downvotes-Noone seemed to like the juice in the Holy Grail of Wobal Glorming being used in the radiator of the Studebaker. Oh well I can't slight ya on this one-for all the same reasons I detest the Power Rangers-I love anything uniquely cheesey. Go Go Power Rangers!

Music video with 8 treadmills: OK Go - Here It Goes Again

Dignant_Pink says...

i did something similar when i was a kid. except there was no music. and we didnt dance. it did involve a treadmill though. i.e., melting the faces of my power rangers toys by cranking my treadmill up to the max and...well, i think you can guess the rest.

good video.
