Comcast put him on hold until they closed

eric3579 says...

Who stays on hold that long and just doesn't call back? I wouldn't necessarily see this as intentional(although it's possible I guess). I think being put on hold can many times put you into hold limbo. I know it's happened to me with many businesses, with no obvious intention to screw me. Shit just happens sometimes. The phone systems aren't perfect im guessing and the people who have to work with them aren't for sure. That all being said I still fucking hate Comcast and love to see videos that take them to task.

Comcast Doesn't Give a F*ck

Payback says...

Periodically, at work, we get calls from exasperated Comcast customers trying to get this or that fixed, or re-setup missed install appointments. It's quite sad really.

These poor people call and get transferred to us by Comcast's phone system.

Oh, did I mention we're a limousine company in Canada?

Dial Up Modem Handshake Sound - Spectrogram

ant says...

I agree. In U.S., we can go only go up to 53K due to FCC rules. I wished mine could go that fast. Mine never did and still doesn't! Stupid outdated GTE/Verizon phone systems with no DSL and FIOS for my neighborhoods!

I believe this is a 56k modem, because of the ramp up at 22 secs.

Dial Up Modem Handshake Sound - Spectrogram

ant says...

I know it's not 26400, 28800, and 31200 since my dial-up modems don't sound like those due to old crappy phone systems and areas. Maybe 53K?

I wonder which baud this is at? From the pic (http://i.imgur.com/5Dq6K2U.png) the main video description points to, I'd guess 3200 or Modem 28.8... The good old days of connecting to Software Connections BBS and Rusty and Eddys...

Wasn't there a show, where some geeks are trying to debate certain baud connection sounds in one episode?

BBBLloom 3D audio R3M|x

BoneRemake says...

If you listen to this with headphones then it is Three Dimensional. You can hear the sound going around and around and left and right and fading and forwarding and faxing all in front of your ears.

Plug that expensive head phone system into your jack in port on your audio. Jack it in hard.

How To Get Back Overdraft Fees From Your Bank

stl102 says...

Have you ever thought about keeping a register like the old days? I work at a bank and deal with customers who overdraft their account everyday and it is mostly because they don't keep track of what they have. Let's let the internet do it or an automated phone system do it. Guess what people, that way can't tell if you wrote checks that haven't cleared. It's only as useful as the information it's given. Use a register please! And to those who do overdraft, don't come asking for fee reversals when you go to the boat or a bar and overdraw, that just shows no responsibility at all.

I look at every customer on a case by case basis when I deal with fees. I realize things happen sometimes and most of the time they don't keep a register. Had they, about 80% of the overdrafts wouldn't happen. It's NOT a bank error. It's user error. You swipe that card, you know how much money is in your account. We are not the bank police. Get a register.

I'm not trying to be rude or anything but too many people keep swiping and authorizing transactions with their debit card and it gets to be a pain in the ass to deal with.

Why don't you just tell me the movie you want to see?
