Orientation is quite easy, actually. Central position, just outside the box -- it hardly gets any simpler than that. Putting the right amount of juice behind your shot to achieve such a perfect rainbox from an overhead kick, now that's much more difficult. Inside the box, you aim at a downward angle, so you don't have to worry about the amount of force you put into it.

And it really is much easier if you put it up yourself instead of trying to convert a cross someone bent into the penalty area. I can't count the number of times I tried a bicycle kick after a cross only to have the ball end up near the bloody corner flag or cross the net behind the goal. Most of the time though, you simply miss the ball and look like a fool.

Now that this has gone top 15(!) let me say why this is a brilliant goal. They build from the back and are under extreme pressure from a very good Liverpool side, one that goes on to win the championship that year.

The goal features two superb headers from Keegan, two one-twos, an overhead kick and sweet control and finish from Channon. It has to be up there with some of the best goals ever scored.
