Actually Picking up A Girl - Simple but full of WIN

albrite30 says...

Your jaded perspective makes me feel bummed out for you. Don't read so much into this encounter. You can view it as a nature program or something.

Tonight on Nova.... The mating ritual of the Utah human.

Now... smile!

Then maybe this will be the encounter that leads them to suspicion and paranoia.

Patrice O'Neal - Men and Cheating

shinyblurry says...

This way of thinking is simply a misdirection from the original purpose of sex. It is designed for one man and one woman, who are married and committed for life. Sex in the marriage bed is sacred; everywhere else it is vulgar and leads to the aberrant behavior and thought life we see being espoused in this video.

Yes, as you have noted, it is systemic in all cultures, because this is a fallen world populated by fallen people. Satans version of sex is whenever, whereever, with whoever, and this is the mindset that men are programmed with from birth. Yes, it is natural for men to feel this way, because that is the way of the world. It is not the way of God. You have to learn the way of God because we are all born spiritually dead, with the flesh at war with the spirit at all times. It is natural for us to sin, and self-control is alien to this nature. No one knows how bad the human heart really is, but Hitler gave us a good demonstration.

I agree with you, religion is no cure for anything. That has nothing to do with Jesus. You either know Him or you don't, regardless of what you call yourself. Many people who claim to know Christ only have a religion, and no actual relationship with Him. You cannot overcome sin without the Holy Spirit. Those who don't know Christ only have the amount of self-control that God has graced them with.

Spiritually, the principle is garbage in, garbage out. There is a war in the mind, and when you open the door to something, it comes in, stakes out territory, and builds itself a stronghold. Unfortunately, there are many Christians living in sin and so they are spiritually compromised. The enemy has conquered them and exerts great influence over their lives. You can't wage an effective warfare when the front line of the battle is on your doorstep.

You are in a spiritual war whether you realize it or not. Every day a battle is being waged for your soul. You have been captured, and taken deep into enemy territory..and many soldiers have breeched enemy lines to come and set you free. They have set the key right in front of your cell, and have done everything they can to get your attention, but you refuse to leave; you prefer your slavery. You are satisified with a carrot on a stick. Always seeking, never finding. Temporary pleasure, no lasting peace. The oasis never being dispelled, despite the mouthful of sand. Bread and circuses. I pray for you, that you would see the bars my friend.

"This degenerate culture?" You mean, every human culture? Men, in general, deep down, feel this way. And, like O'Neal points out, men and women are naturally programmed to think and feel differently about sex. It's in our nature -- or if you prefer, it's the way God intended. If men thought about sex the same way that women do, there wouldn't have been enough sex happening to propagate the species. And if women were as casual about sex as men are, then we wouldn't have secure enough families to raise a successful child. It's the balance of nature. We need both men's huge sex drive and women's preference for lifelong bonding for survival as a species. Men who don't want sex and women who don't want family stability didn't have children who survived, and that's why there's so few of either type around now.
You can't stop men's sex drive, not even with religion. Evidence? The more religious/conservative neighbourhoods of Istanbul (where I live) are the ones with the most sexual assaults on the street. In my liberal neighbourhood just 15 minutes away, a woman can go get bread at 2 am. Want something closer to home? The more conservative states are the ones where men consume the most porn per capita. Utah is #1! And in the extreme, among professions where sex is forbidden (meaning Catholic priests only), there's a massive problem with child rape. You, SB, may be a shining knight following the path of the Lord, but those around you pretending to be pious are getting fiddly -- either with themselves or with non-consenting victims -- when you're not looking.
Yet again, it makes more sense that nature is as nature is, which makes more sense than saying some things are your imaginary friend's will, and others are the result of our "degenerate" or "fallen" state.>> ^shinyblurry:

He had great delivery, I'll give him that. But things like this, and moreso his interview on WTF, show that he had a fucked up view of women and men's relationships to them. He really had a view of women that they were, at heart, out to get men, out to make us unhappy... he seemed like he was never really going to be comfortable to be in a proper relationship with a woman.
Which is/was sad.

This is an accurate portrayal of the way that men, who see women as means to an end, namely their own sexual gratification, do think. I think it's rather stereotypical of this degenerate culture, actually..

Japanese Bug Fights - Round the 6th

entr0py says...

Anyone else think this is a bit fucked up? Yes arthropods have primitive nervous systems and simple brains, so it doesn't compare to the cruelty involved in dog fighting. But I just worry about people who find it entertaining to force animals to kill each other for sport.

I understand on one level, it is interesting what natural defenses and hunting skills these things evolved. But why not just watch one of the countless nature programs where researchers document the behavior of animals without interfering?

But this. . . it's like watching a child who takes joy in slowly tearing the wings off of flies. Even if you don't give a damn about the flies, you still worry about the psychology of the child.

Pornography Myths (Femme Talk Post)

Farhad2000 says...

I agree that having an orgasm is another level, but that is natural as well as I mentioned earlier our minds are entirely wired to derive alot of pleasure form the act of sex.

With regards to whacking off to urns to YouPorn, that is simply an evolution of mediums, the Kamasutra was written several thousands of years ago, alot of Indian temples are covered with scandalous carvings, there lots of porn illustrations from the 1700s and 1800s, scandalous literature was also rather common in France and Europe, also I think you should consider that during Grecian times we also had state sanctioned brothels, orgies were also quite common, a man could have any woman or boy as a right via force. Almost every perverted Roman emperor from Nero to Caligula indulged in far greater sexual excesses then anyone does in our time.

Any new medium will also be used to transmit this most basic act of man, I believe that when we have VR, sexual stimulations will be the first and most popular application.

My whole point is that a frank examination of humanity would leave no doubt in the fact that we are in many ways sexually repressed, this is something that has been dealt over the last few decades, but still we have alot of hang ups about sex. I remember a conversation I had with a strict Muslim, I asked him why would God would make sex so pleasurable if it was so inherently dirty? He couldn't really provide an answer.

I believe the more you push something out of society and marginalize it, the more seductive it becomes for the next generation because it's restricted or wrong. I grew in the 80s with D.A.R.E. and all those "Winners Don't Use Drugs" bullshit on my SNES games, you know whats the first thing I tried? But then I realized that the mystique of this was all that really attracted me, something i have seen with alot of friends of mine from Netherlands, drug use and availability is such a given they don't really care about it.

The same applies to sex and it's repression. My parents are doctors so they never really were squeamish about explaining birth and sex, they didn't even have to, all the medical books around the house and watching documentaries and nature programs already explained it all anyway. So when I got online and found porn it wasn't really surprising at all. It was a given. I didn't have any hang ups about it. I didn't go mental over it, it wasn't a hang up, I didn't walk around stalking girls and trying to rape them.

I live in a strict sexually repressed society now, and I can see it's tolls, people are so hanged up about sex here yet all watch it through proxies and satellite channels. They can't approach women so generally you hear of boys kidnapping other boys and raping them, or having sex with their maids who are forced into it. But most of all they fly to Dubai or Bahrain and hire hookers. Now who is at fault here? Is it the porn? Or is it the repression of sex in general in society?

I find the same parallels in the whole anti-Gay and pro-morality crap the Republican party has been pushing. Eventually we find out that alot of them are gays, alot of them made moves at pages, some tapped in airports for gay sex. It was hilarious.

So is pornography in society that bad?

Sir David Attenborough on God

HaricotVert says...

Well, as he says in the video, he does "confront" religion, but he does so in private. For the vast majority (or even all) of his nature programs, it is not the place to have open attacks of religion/creationism, though it may subtly allude to it.

I think that's why his shows have such widespread appeal - they are fascinating to anyone, theist or not.

I'd say both Attenborough and Dawkins are on nearly the same level in terms of challenging religious dogma, it's just that Dawkins makes a career out of doing so whereas Attenborough has his career as a naturalist first.
