Boosting Stop-Motion to 60 fps using AI
interesting. seems quite a bit smoother than other frame/motion interpolation but there are definitely visible artifacts.
The Designoid Dimension - mindblowing 3D fractal animation
it doesn't implement well in a VFX pipeline (though he argues it *could). lack of camera import/export, lack of AOVs, lack of geo import/export, lack of motion blur make it pretty much untenable. plus too many errors, aliasing, noise that would require a lot of work to clean up.
Well, the artist who made this video (in Mandelbulb 3D) earns a living as a fulltime fractal artist using this software. He produces music videos and concept art, all kinds of stuff. There's another program out there called "Mandelbulber" that isn't as sophisticated but Mandelbulb 3D is capable of producing stunning results imo. I don't think it's all that limited.
The Chaotic Pendulum
I would love to see for an hour. Could this be true perpetual motion?
Helicopter Nearly Collides With Drone Off Hollywood Coast
Wow. I'd have preferred seeing the helicopter in real time first. Slow motion seemed too slow.
Hypnotic Moving Sculptures by Kinetic Artist Ivan Black
Sculptures hypnotically reasonably good.
Music hypnotically bad.
Editing and subtitles awakeningly mediocre.
I mean "it uses motion to achieve a specific effect".
Interesting how anything with a shiny metal surface looks like a statue, like something with value. A coat of paint instantly makes the same object look like a stupid toy.

"THIS IS EPIC"
they missed conception bay, dildo, south dildo, come by chance, little heart's ease, tickles, nugget's bay, random island, lady cove, and the motion. and that's just on the east coast of newfoundland.
Catching a Strangers Phone on Rollercoaster
*wtf Wow. No slow motion?

Texans Have The Biggest Haboobs
The motion where the sand meets the ground doesn't look right. Doesn't seem like the sort of thing someone would intentionally fake, maybe it's just the video compression, but anyways, it doesn't look right.

Overhead Cam at 14K RPM
Those springs must be hard as rocks to be able to rebound at that speed.
This really could use a few seconds of super slow motion close up. I want to see the oil vaporize.
The difference between water and beer
What's with the weird compositing on the beer label? Looks like the name was comped on after and they didn't manage a good job on the motion tracking.
Actually on second viewing it doesn't match the grain or colour mix of the original and it looks like the motion tracking was done manually by a ninth-grader who took a HS course on Adobe Aftereffects.
