Obama Speaks Candidly on Unknown Open Mic

Retroboy says...

>> ^xxovercastxx:
Psst!
Mike is the guy who lives in the apartment upstairs. Mic is short for microphone.

Actually, "Mike" is a perfectly acceptable shortening of 'microphone'.

"mic" is the acronym for "Men In Chartreuse", which was the astoundingly less-successful second sequel to "Men in Black".

Ultimatum to Obama and all Hostiles, Surrender or Die!

raverman says...

It's like Scientology, V and Men in Black all mashed together in 'Made for TV' movie style awesomeness!!

Pleiadeans:
"Aryan Nordic Aliens from the Pleiades star cluster"

Reptilians:
"Blood-drinking, shape-shifting reptilian humanoids from the Alpha Draconis star system, now hiding in underground bases in Hollow Earth, are the force behind a worldwide conspiracy directed at humanity."

XCOM Trailer E3 2010

mentality says...

>> ^gwiz665:

Feels sorta more like X-com apocalypse to me (which was shit). Still, looks interesting.
>> ^darkrowan:
I like how this works, but I refuse to consider this part of XCOM canon.

Apoc was great. The real time wasn't well implemented, but watching a facesucker jump on your men or a popper decimate your squad in turn base mode was every bit as intense as fighting chryssalids and ethereals. Of course the intensity suffers later on once you get better armor and personal shields, but so did the original X-COM once you can just blasterbomb and mind control the shit of the aliens. Apoc was a great game in its own right, just different than the original.

Now this abomination called XCOM has barely anything to do with the original. At least Fallout 3 used the iconic post-apocalyptic setting filled with pipboy and supermutants. This XCOM could might as well be a videogame adaptation of Men in Black or Mars Attacks.

NLB League Final - from heaven to hell in 0.5sec

what ?

I assume the men in black won the game ? huh ? wtf, I know I am sports illiterate, but is there anything else that can be added to this video to explain it ? not everyone is sports illustrated.

With only a few seconds left in the game, black team is +1 on the scoreboard. Black team has 2 free throws, but misses them both.

White team takes the rebound, crosses the court, scores a 3 point shot, so they go +2 on the scoreboard with only 0.5 seconds left in the game. They start celebrating like crazy, they have won the league! Wohooo, we are the bestest!

Black team shoots from their own court with that 0.5 second, and they score.

Black team starts celebrating even more than white team, while the white team can only think "WTF just happened?!?"

Hannity: Jon Stewart Was Right

GeeSussFreeK says...

^Ya, granted. And I think that is where the dispute comes in. I am willing to believe it was an honest mistake and someones head is rolling. These kinds of things happen on CNN and MSNBC as well, but it really isn't worth pointing them out. It is, however, funny, so I don't think John is remiss in loling at it. But I don't think you can call it men in black coats persay. Stuff slips through, even the BBC got hit by the YES men, news isn't immune to error

Fall of the Republic - The Presidency of Barack Obama

^Profit from it? I think what this video is trying to do is be what the media should be, a watch dog. Granted, this is chop full of sensationalism and glances over things that are important, but it is at least making an effort to look out for "the man" and serve the interests of "the little guy". It seems like people who call shenanigans now are attacked with "loon" or "conspiracy nut" kind of ad hominem attacks.

While it isn't formal education, it is at least something to break the cycle of thought one normally is exposed to. A break from status que thinking that you would get at...say your local library. Established educational academia has a vested interests to not look "cooky" as it could detract from their attendance pool. They have a vested interest in not deviating from what you would expect. Being edgy or insightful goes against established academia and it is why a lot of real revolutionary thought comes from outside the university system.

Even well educated people on economics don't have any transparency into the fed. It is only partly a government organization, the business conducted in them is not a matter of public record. Recent attempts to make it so have been blocked and that is what the video is pointing out in the first 50mins or so. That massive cronyism and misconduct was and still is being conducted to rob the people of their savings to benefit a very small number of firms that generate no wealth.

I don't see why you would find it odd that the rich would conspire with other rich to protect their wealth and power. The history on this; mercantilism, cartels, feudalism, oligopolies, is just to clear to ignore. I think this video did a good job in capturing where these potential men in black coats could be, and if they are, offer a very interesting perspective into possible goals and means to archive those goals. I love war gaming. What I mean is to take a situation and map it out to its ends. Most people get ridiculed when they do this out in open air, which is a shame.

It's No Fun Being An Illegal Alien - Controversy

ponceleon says...

Actually, I'm a bleeding heart ninny most of the time and I really don't think this is offensive at all. In fact, this gag was done before, and a HELL of a lot more publicly than this.

Remember the first Men in Black? It opens with this gag, where the two agents are checking out the Mexicans that are being smuggled into the US in the back of the van because they suspect that one of them is a alien-alien...

... Seriously, there are link two or three jumps in logic here which I don't think quite add up to something "offensive."

Also, culture and race very much influence each other, so I don't think it makes any sense to try and separate the two into distinct camps. It's very difficult for a black woman to feel more than politely welcome in any white social setting, for example. Black women simply aren't considered as attractive as white women, as a whole, so the end result is that white women are going to be more influenced by the opinions of white men than black women, simply due to increased contact. You can't assimilate something you find unattractive and thus avoid, which means cultural messages cannot be as easily transferred between the two parties.

Look at all the "check out this video of sexy girls!" videos that make the Top ranks of Videosift, and you pretty much only see white and East Asian women. White men are not as interested in black women as they are white and East Asian women, so how can black women possibly adapt the same culture as white men or women?

Douche

Excuse me? Who the fuck do you think you are calling me a Douche. How dare you.

The site is called "Video Sift" not "Journalist Watch" so I don't spend hours trying to find out what happened in these videos. I posted the information that I found in regards to this video. Men in black, with equipment and nightsticks to me corroborates the police information I was reading.

The people that came to be up the "officer" are hooligans? I understand what a soccer hooligan is, but when you see someone beating someone else when they can't fight back and you go to help? Well if that's being a hooligan then call me a hooligan.

Also for future notice if you have information that you feel is more accurate, like a news story, or whatever, I am always happy to update my story.

But for now? You can kiss my ass you little prick.

do you work in the industry?

>> ^blankfist:

ok, the "please don't make the sound effects" part was pretty funny

Actors always make weird noises on set. I don't know why, but anytime they need to press something or move something (anything that doesn't have a physical sound but will have one added in post) they have to play on-set sound designer. My favorite thing they do is faking hit sounds during a fight sequence. They're adorable.
