I'll shoot you a pm before I do it. If he responds, I'll post it on the sift talk. BTW, Free talk live was what you recommended, not freedomain: http://blog.videosift.com/blankfist/Air-America-Progressive-Radio-Going-Off-Air?loadcomm=1#comment-939180

Alright, time to get some shit done. Talk to you later.

Haha. Good! Please let me know how that turns out. I'd be very interested in being a fly on the wall. But I'd really love to hear you debate on the radio.

I recommended the podcasts at freedomainradio? I've never personally listened to those that I know of. Are you sure? It's not that I think you're lying, just don't remember.

You recommended the podcasts. It was actually when I said I wasn't interested in podcasts that caused the banning, but I'm sure that was just a convenient excuse to avoid questions they were not intellectually equipped to answer. I'm usually pretty mellow, even in the heat of debate, but getting the boot has me really ticked at the moment. I'm not sure if the ban is permament. If not, I'm going back to that chat room to school Molyneaux's bitch ass at some point.

Keanu Reeves talks about the "sad keanu" photo

direpickle says...

Keanu always comes off as a pretty mellow, nice guy in every interview I've seen or heard with him. He even just said here that he didn't mind the Sad Keanu meme (he just doesn't like the paparazzi). I don't think he seems like a pompous ass here?

excellent! crass has some of the best lyrics ever, but the sound is sort of inaccessible. i'm really excited about this album. while the angry, baby crusty 15 year old inside me still loves the old crass records sound, the mellowed out adult with 2 little kids just wants to be mellow most of the time.

and this jeff lewis fellow, he's quite intriguing....
this is the coolest thing i've ever seen all week

Amazing video clip about THC and PTSD

probie says...

>> ^BoneRemake:

But THC is just the tip of the iceberg for compounds in cannabis that make you " high" Cbd, Cdb Cbb Thca/thc, hundreds..

I was going to say the same thing. I hate it when they make the claim that THC is the only compound in grass that gets you high. In fact, increasing the potency of marijuana by increasing only the THC leads to more "paranoid" weed. You need the other compounds to mellow it out.

Missing Bush? Well he just found out about Facebook...

Trancecoach says...

On June 10, 2010, Fmr. President George W. Bush posted an "Inaugural Address" on his Facebook page. "Watching this, it seems like such a perfectly natural thing for a pol to do that I'm amazed more of them don't do it. Obama has his weekly YouTube address, of course, and the GOP has its weekly rebuttal, but you'd think up-and-comers — Palin especially — would have full-blown YouTube fee-vah given how much more intimate a video address feels than a Facebook post. A two-minute address from Bobby Jindal each week updating America on what's been done to protect the coastline from the spill and what's still needed would be a costless way to raise his profile and turn up the heat on the feds. I suspect GWB's started a trend here. It's good to see him under such mellow circumstances, but I confess: The green screen's weirding me out a little." — Allahpundit

Imagine a Jump (John Lennon vs. Van Halen) Mashup

I'm sorry I feel this way too, honestly. What you say about this sort of behavior usually being the result of past experience manifesting itself as a self-defense mechanism is very true, I'm not arrogant enough that I can't recognize these "fuck ups" in my own psyche and if we were talking about my inability to let someone I'm in a relationship with get closer to me I'd be more inclined to tell myself that it is a problem, a sort of behavior I may want to change.
But if we zoom out a bit and talk about a man and how he feels about his community, his fellow man, humanity in general, then I find that as time passes I don't "mellow out", I don't become aware of these inconsistencies you mention and I don't find my tendency to pass judgment quickly faulty, quite the opposite.

The difference seems to me that unlike you my issues with other people usually have nothing to do with how kind-hearted they are or how likely they are to hurt me. I've no problem with people being ass holes, it's ignorance that bothers me (at least, ignorance as I perceive it, which is quite different from society's definition). I look at the vast majority of people around me and I find that I can't respect them, for hundreds of different reasons - be it the fact most of them are mind-numbingly boring, that their outlook on life and their community, their interests and their opinions are dictated by what they heard the other day on TV/What their parents taught them/What their minister, rabi, whatever told them. The fact that I'm surrounded by racism and intolerance, the fact the people cling to bullshit causes like patriotism and tradition, that they would fight and murder each other for these things that mean nothing to me.
Again, it's not about wrong and right, it's about me, looking around me and realizing that the number of people I see that I have anything in common with, that I want to talk to for more than 5 minutes and that don't fill me with disgust is depressingly low. I don't want to work with them towards achieving goals, I want to "build walls" around me and enjoy my life as much as I can with as little contact with mainstream society as I can manage because unfortunately as much as I may want to be "ignorant" to it all and live in bliss, I can't.

I see what you're saying. I'm sorry you feel that way. I'm not gonna say the world is all tulips and butterflies, but as someone who used to be in a pretty dark place myself and think there was no point to anything, I guess the only thing I can offer is the hope that maybe you won't feel that way forever. In my case, I realized a lot of the assumptions I was making about other people were just plain wrong. They were based on the fact that I'd been hurt pretty bad when I was younger by people I trusted, and I kind of developed this self-defense mechanism of just assuming everyone is an asshat. If you don't ever get close to anybody, they can't ever hurt you right?

I can't say it was any one thing that changed me in the end. Over time I started to become aware of inconsistencies in my perceptions. People I thought were total assholes turned out to be all right. And other people that were actually assholes... I came to understand why they acted that way. Sometimes, knowing how they got there, I couldn't blame them. Plus, I was pretty miserable too believing the worst in people all the time. So I decided to change.

Anyways, I hope you can change your mind someday too.

Cooking Korean BBQ Beef Spare Ribs (Kalbi)

Ryjkyj says...

OK, ok. Sorry to take up your post but:

When I lived in NYC, I had a neighbor who was raised in LA and then went to high-school and became a chef in Hawaii. He's probably one of the greatest chefs I'll ever meet. (probably just because he used to cook for me all the time)

Anyway, there was a period in New York where my wife wanted to go vegetarian again so I told her we'd try it. I'd been eating/cooking vegetarian for a few weeks when my neighbor, Mike, who I'd only met once before, knocked on our door and offered us a plate of food. It smelled really good and we didn't want to be rude so we took it and tried some.

Now, I'd never had Kalbi ribs or even heard of them before. And keep in mind I also hadn't eaten meat in a few weeks.

I know I sound little mellow dramatic, but I'm absolutely telling the truth when I say that my first reaction to eating Kalbi ribs was to bite my lip as hard as I could to prevent myself from crying in front of my wife. They were perfect. They ARE perfect when someone knows how to grill them right.

Even though I would never deviate from Mike's recipe, thank you for posting this Issy. And If you haven't tried these before, find a restaurant that makes them. If they do it right, you won't be disappointed.

Controversy Over Girls Doing Beyonce Dance (Video)

gwiz665 says...

Why am I not surprised that the she's morally outraged at this? She didn't like Epic Beard Man either, and uhm, dang, I forgot what they other thing was that she was all "wah wah" about too. She needs to mellow out, man.

That said, it's a bit iffy with the dresses and suggestive dancing. If the parents allow it and the kids want to do it, let them have their fun. Pervs are gonna wank to stuff no matter what anyway, don't be afraid because someone might take it the wrong way - that's no way to live your life.

Parting Words from Choggie (Wildwestshow Talk Post)

rottenseed says...

I like to believe we're all responsible for our actions here. Some of you treat choggie as if he is in no control over his fingers' desires to express themselves. He was there mentally the entire time. He could have said a lot of things. He could have not said anything. Yet, he chose to say what he said. Something that could be construed as racist. So those of you that are speaking his behalf saying that he didn't mean to be racist are admitting that you believe the alternative; that he's an idiot that can't separate proper from improper forms of criticism. If there's one thing I know about choggie, it's that he's not unintelligent...unintelligible sometimes, but not unintelligent.

As long as he's here, he will do that. And it rubs enough people wrong every time he does, so I've come to the conclusion that he will always make people feel uncomfortable. Some of you may say "well, he was pushing the limits to make you feel uncomfortable and show you your true self" or whatever the f*ck psycho babble that has to be fabricated in order to justify his behavior. Well, this website is #1 a business, and #2 a community, and having him here obviously doesn't allow for a healthy business or community. So sorry, dude, he might be the most enlightened person in the universe, but he's harshin' our collective mellow.
