What made you join VideoSift? (Sift Talk Post)
This is a good topic for Sift Talk Kronos!
I knew about Videosift for almost a year before I joined. I lurked for many months and found that it was a great place to find a variety of things to watch to appeal to everyone, and I really enjoyed reading the commentaries for the videos. I also noticed that many sites such as Reddit would link a lot of content here. I found this among many others from lurking this awesome site.
The thing that got me to join was when Luciano Pavarotti passed away. I was really sad and distraught, and wanted to find everything Pavarotti on the Sift. It was my desire to post a particular classic video clip as my personal tribute to him, in a sense. The community impressed me so much, I decided to go charter just a couple of weeks later.
RIP Luciano Pavarotti - Ave Maria
He is perfection. Upvote because it's Luciano Pavarotti... and because you beat me to submitting this.
Amazing opera singer on Britain has got Talent
Am I the only one thinking that this was a terrible delivery? I was frowning the whole time I was watching this clip. Ugh!
I've seen better talents in this show than this guy, and they get sent off. Why is everyone cheering? Oh yea, for an amateur, it's amazing. And yes, Opera is refreshing apart from whatever the hell they're singing about. But tears? TEARS? Those hicks MOCK OPERA SINGERS!!!!
I'm no 'expert' on classical music or anything, but at least I can call myself a dilettante. And I must say, if you think that was 'moving', you guys should CLEAN OUT YOUR EARS, and really learn to appreciate opera with the REAL stuff.

Yes, it's good to see people appreciating opera for a change. But it also seems like the audience is so ignorant when it comes to arias, serenade and operas that they seem to love anything that sounds remotely 'opera-like'.
It really disgusts me how some people were 'moved' by this mediocre performance. It really does.
Sarah Brightman & Andrea Bocelli perform "Con te partiro"...
This song means alot to me.
<ahref="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarah_Brightman">Sarah Brightman and Andrea Bocelli are wonderful together.
Though Bocelli frequently sings in operas, some music critics and opera fans consider him a pop singer who has neither the training nor the voice quality of a true opera singer. Supporters of Bocelli often counter that his stage presence and the heartfelt emotion he puts into his singing make up for any lack of technical proficiency. Furthermore, opera "great" Luciano Pavarotti conceded to Bocelli's talent, remarking "Let Andrea sing Miserere...for there is no one finer". Ironically enough, Bocelli's critics often point to Pavarotti as the operatic tenor ideal.
