Aren’t you going to tell us all about 7 year old victim Lachlan Leary, son of Steve Leary, who died from his Covid vaccination?
Or are you afraid of getting caught spreading another ridiculous right wing lie?

Steve Leary, claiming to be an Australian father of a (now dead) 7 year old son who died directly from his vaccination, is becoming a right wing folk hero for posting his story…..problem is there’s no record of this child, there’s no record of his death or any child death from vaccination, and Steve Leary turns out to be a mayor in Winter Park Florida, not an Australian father….but the story lives on and I’m certain you would believe it were it not pre-debunked.

I know you're right. The god damn "hippies" were correct all along; people should shut up and suck the magical wisdom juice from Tim Leary's dead prick, LOL.

greg giraldo owns denis leary on tough crowd

poolcleaner says...

Isn't Leary's whole shtick that he's really just a lucky asshole?

He's in character. He typically gets humbled (owned) in his comedic acts; he's the every man's angry man that needs the humbling experiences to grow rather than be destoyed by hubris.

I've never seen him as the type who competes, rather he reacts with the inhibitions of an angry drunk tellIing it lIke it is. It's difficult for me to see the difference between him being Dennis Leary for real and him being Dennis Leary in his acts. You always get the feeling he is implicitly telling his jokes from the underdog's perspective. He was just wrong about a fact, except he's a comedian, so being owned while in character is the riposte and payoff for the act. Greg's stare down ONLY works because it's against Leary. Two man bit. Three man with Colin's visual gag. (It's like the Marx Bros.)

They both win at comedy, but Greg wins at facts.

That was the high point of the video. The rest of it was a bunch of second rate comedians spouting not very interesting opinions.

OLeary's Perspective on OXFAM and the World's Impoverished

14 year old girl schools ignorant tv host

Sotto_Voce says...

As much as I disagree with Kevin O'Leary on most things, I'm with him on this. The girl is impressively assured and sharp for her age, but a lot of what she is saying with such confidence is simply false.

For instance, she says that Golden Rice has been shown not to work. Untrue. There is plenty of scientific evidence showing that Golden Rice is a good source of vitamin A (example). Given the huge problems associated with vitamin deficiency in the third world, and the strong scientific support for the efficacy of Golden Rice, the movement against its use is basically like the anti-vaccination movement -- uninformed and dangerous.

Also, Golden Rice is distributed for free to poor farmers (thanks to Ingo Potrykus, its creator), so its not like farmers have to go into debt to pay Monsanto or something in order to use it.

There were other falsehoods in what she said (like her absurd claim that GM crops don't produce higher yields) but this one really stood out for me. Golden Rice seems like a no-brainer: an unambiguously positive scientific development that is being distributed in an ethical manner. Spreading misinformation about it in order to discourage its adoption is unconscionable.

I think its important to have people out there protesting and warning against the excesses of companies like Monsanto, which has an unfortunate stranglehold over most GMO distribution. I just wish the most vocal activists weren't also science-deniers.

We must correct the original submitter of this offering-The host is far from ignorant-As a venture capitalist and entrepreneur, O'Leary has made quite the bankroll during his career especially with his Softkey project which enjoyed a great deal of success carving his niche in the so-called, " educational software market." I would venture to guess that his prime motivator is amassing more money, power, and influence over the minds and hearts of potential customers of his brand of indoctro-information with this business-oriented programming schlock and it's obvious he's passionate about one thing in particular-Getting the O'Leary brand model and into as many heads and homes as possible.

Good luck with that Canadian, you're a minor player and will never get invited to the big-people's table for the dinner of the Blood of a Thousand Million Saints and Sinners.

We can also tell from your manner and body-language, that you're most-likely a massive, egotistical doucheprick.

Kevin O'Leary on global inequality: "It's fantastic!"

bcglorf says...

Kevin O'Leary needs to be punched in the face. I know, violence is wrong, but when an uber wealthy fellow openly declares the world's poorest are a just a hard days work away from his status, he needs to punched in the face for it. Every time he says it someone has to inflict enough physical pain on him until he learns to stop doing it. He probably won't learn why, but at least he'll learn to stop.

I say that as someone largely pro-capitalist. Human beings are easily corrupted, and terrible people are drawn to wealth and power and work harder to achieve it. Capitalism at least pits them against each other in trying to get or make more stuff. The one thing that capitalism has a strong historically track record for is growth. It leaves more stuff for everyone to share, though it does nothing for distributing it better. Wealth redistribution schemes though invariably lead to less and less left to be redistributed. In short, capitalism rewards hard work(albeit not even-handedly) while socialism does not. Hard work means more stuff, less work means less.

Of course if you take either to extreme they are both awful, you've got to have a middle ground. Ideally you want that middle ground to be reached and agreed upon democratically. America is imperfect, terribly so, but it's IMHO a far, far cry closer to the ideal than most anywhere else in this regard.
