Oh, I guess they're not - from MSNBC:

Sect declared non-Muslims
Ahmadis are a minority Muslim sect founded in the late 19th century. Their beliefs include that Jesus Christ survived the crucifixion and died in Kashmir. Some also believe that prophets have come after Mohammad, the founder of Islam, but that he retains his primacy.

Pakistan is the only Muslim state to have declared Ahmadis non-Muslims. Its 4 million-odd members have seen their religious rights in overwhelmingly Muslim Pakistan curtailed by law.

I'm doing great! I doubt I'd ever leave, it would have to go way worse than it has yet... I'm resilient.

The best album to start with is The Good Life, I think. The albums before that are a bit more rough, but some people prefer them. Zitilites is a great album too. I got a bunch of more kashmir in my queue btw..

Hey Gwiz, I've been pretty good, how about yourself? Happy New Year to you, glad to see you're still on the Sift. I've been around, but I haven't really stumbled across anything I feel like sifting lately, so I've just been adding to vote counts, I guess.

Thanks for the link man, beautiful song there. I still need to really check Kashmir out. What's their best album to start with?

A short explanation of the Kashmiri conflict

Pretty well summed up. Kashmir is an amazing place, but it's unfortunately situated in between three pretty crazy nuclear-armed nations. I spent some time in Srinagar last May and it was really interesting place. It's like heaven on earth in terms of natural beauty and culture, but I've never been surrounded by so many armed men before in my life. Shortly after I arrived, two muslim girls were raped, murdered and dumped in a stream and the Indian Security Forces were blamed for it. The Islamic separatists groups called a general strike throughout the whole region and I was stuck in my houseboat for a few days because there were roadblocks everywhere. I had to hire a driver to get me out of the city at the break of dawn. I'll never forget the mountain roads in Kashmir! I'd love to go back and spend more time there again someday though. It really is an incredible place.
