Video of New Pinball Game

probie says...

Summer of '84, I lived just down the way from arcade, replete with stand-up machines, cocktail models, jukebox, etc., but the best part was they had an entire wall of pinball machines which ran the length of the establishment. Most of them were old models, which still used roll counters; they only had a handful of newer models. One of which was Firepower by Williams. Fell in love with that game and it's still on my list as a "get" item when I win the lottery.

Reminds me of when I was in a bar with some friends and I selected a bunch of songs from the CD jukebox, including "Miserlou" from Pulp Fiction. There was a lull then "EVERYBODY BE COOL, THIS IS A ROBBERY!" from the diner scene with Tim Roth. They included it as the intro to Miserlou.

Startled the crap out of everybody, every single person looked towards the front door. It was pretty funny.

Pills are overrated, I've had a lot more fun without them. Running naked through the mall just feels liberating now.

You forgot to take your pills again, didn't you?

Who's Yehoodi?

Issykitty says...

Ms. Lane Truesdale is on vocals and shimmy in this 1943 "soundie," an early video jukebox format. The title comes from a running joke on radio based on the name of violinist Yehudi Menuhin. This is now in the public domain.
Careful viewers will notice the video is reversed right-to-left, as the original format required a mirror for projection.

Isn't he though

Cal, this is a wonderful song, I am quite familiar with it. Sam Beam is a brilliant song writer.

In reply to this comment by calvados:
If you go to the man's site, there's a jukebox with several songs that will loop for you: http://www.ironandwine.com/

One of them is called "16 Maybe Less" and, vin, I'm going to threadjack for a minute here. There's no good video of that song but like I say you can go listen to it and I'ma post its lyrics right here. It made drunken Calvados sappy one night.

http://lyricwiki.org/Iron_%26_Wine:16,_Maybe_Less

Beyond the ridge to the left, you asked me what I want
Between the trees and cicadas singing round the pond
"I've spent an hour with you, should I want anything else?"

One grinning wink like the neon on a liquor store
We were 16, maybe less, maybe a little more
I walked home smiling, I finally had a story to tell

And though an autumn time lullaby
Sang our new-born love to sleep
My brother told me he saw you there
In the woods one Christmas Eve
Waiting

I met my wife at a party when I drank too much
My son is married and tells me we don't talk enough
Call it predictable, yesterday my dream was of you

Beyond the ridge to the west, the sun had left the sky
Between the trees and the pond, you put your hand in mine
Said, "Time has bridled us both, but I remember you too"

And though an autumn time lullaby
Sang our new-born love to sleep
I dreamt I travelled and found you there
In the woods one Christmas Eve
Waiting
