Comedians in Cars: Jimmy Fallon and a Corvette

I don't want to be grumpy about this, but I really wish they would give us the benefit of the doubt and just let us listen to them talk without cutting to obnoxious musical interludes every ten seconds or just slicing it up to death. Like in the Robert Llewelyn version. Still, fun!

Nightmares on Wax - Nights Introlude (Smokers Delight)

rabidness says...

lol it is confusing isn't it. they are the same song, except this video has the full version with intro where Enoch's sift has the cut down/radio/music video version. You can hear it in the voice that it is the same song. Introlude/Interlude has a different vocalization. I see it referenced as introlude and interlude all over the place, so I went to www.nightmaresonwax.net and the audio link listed it as interlude. They're trying to brain melt us all, I tell you.

Hey. Now I'm only more confused. The wax thickens, if you care to see my next comment on the thread.

Actually, to clear up some confusion and to present something interesting, this is actually Les Nuits by Nightmares On Wax. I've sifted Nights Interlude(http://videosift.com/video/Nightmares-on-Wax-Nights-Interlude) so you can hear the comparison. Yes, Nightmares On Wax essentially remade the same song twice. Nights Interlude was released on 1995(Smokers Delight) and Les Nuits was released in 1999(Carboot Soul.) I personally prefer Nights. =)

Orianthi ft Steve Vai "Highly Strung"

handmethekeysyou says...

I have no particular attachment to lyrics. I love instrumental jazz, enjoy classical, and have been on a major kick of foreign rock lately because it's great to be able to appreciate voice as an instrument without having to understand the (frequently) trite lyrics.

Roll Tide establishes a theme and presents variations on it. It's structure is quite classical, as a lot of metal is. The issue I raise with Vai (& Satriani & Michael Angelo Batio) is that they are shredding for the sake of shredding. I don't stand opposed to shredding, but I feel that it's at its best as an interlude to a piece with harmony, melody, arc, etc.

A drum machine and two guitars is just not my idea of a good time (except for maybe Ratatat). I certainly appreciate the absolutely insane technical skill of these guys, I just often believe that they're squandering it.>> ^juliovega914:

I feel Nightwish's Crimson Tide stands to show that a song can be good listening without lyrics.
