FrostBoss: Spin your drink like a boss
Well it makes some sense, in that it's increasing the contact between the liquid and the sides of the can, and it's rapidly decreasing the temperature of the can by increasing the contact between the can and the ice.
Also, I remember a mythbusters episode where they tested various methods for rapidly cooling drinks, and the fastest predictable method was salted ice, thereby lowering the freezing temperature of the water, essentially make it colder than ice. The other side effect was that the salt turned the cooler full of cubed ice (and therefore full of air gaps) into a cooler full of icy water. I think the principle is sound.
Still, its a dumb invention, considering how simple it is to cool drinks in lower tech fashions.>> ^Peroxide:
Can anyone with a physics degree confirm that this isn't nonsense?

So, what can you use this for now?

A 100 Tesla non-destructive magnet has a major effect on a wide range of science. It's a one-of-a-kind tool for studying the fundamental properties of materials, from metals and superconductors, to semiconductors and insulators.

Wolf Rescued From The Icy Limentra River - (Northern Italy)
Well, I'm sure whoever did it was actually trying to kill him, not wound him. Maybe some farmer caught him in bed with his wife...?
Why is everyone so quick to judge whoever shot it and not the wolf itself? Wolves are awesome animals but, they are not gentle creatures. Just ask Liam Neeson.
Under different circumstances, that "poor little guy" would be more than happy to tear your face off. And then someone would be licensed to shoot it, most likely for a reward.>> ^EMPIRE:
Poor little guy. Wolves are such beautiful creatures. Whoever did this is a fucking animal (no pun intended)

Wow, now I know why I get tailgated so much if you all are serious that the camera guy wasn't tailgating. I was counting time between passing poles and it was most of the time anywhere from 1.5 to 2 seconds. There should be a 3 second gap when following someone to allow for safe stopping distance
Lol, 2 seconds is a safe stoping distance.. 3 ask for someone to pull in front of you.
Anyone who thinks this is tailgating.. spend some time in a pop. >1000 town
I've lived in four US cities with population over one million. From 38 seconds on (the bit of driving that triggered the anger from the lead driver) I would definitely call this tailgating. The camera is fairly wide-angle, as well, so I think the cars are closer than they appear.
Regardless, the car with the camera _barely_ stopped in time, and the lead driver could have had a legitimate reason to need to slow down. All it would take is one puddle, icy patch, or slightly less effective brakes for this to have been an accident.
Why drive like a douche and risk injury to yourself an others when you can slow down by _one freaking second_ instead?

You'd think at some point, instead of filming all the inevitable crashes, they might actually attempt to close off the road themselves or something? Just stand at each end and warn drivers at least.
What do you expect, a Mormon to help someone in need?

I'd like to say I feel bad, but I don't. Looking at the way the trucks struggled, I'm willing to say there were rain tires on some of these vehicles. Given the speed of some drivers, I'm betting they thought the AWD/4WD would allow them to make it. Its not okay to think that you can just get by 'this once,' because there are a pile of other drivers thinking the same. Just stupid.
Jesus said "Let he who has not erred throw the first stone" *Looks over shoulder* "Oh nevermind, I see dhdigital has already pegged her to death."

There should be a 'camera mentality' channel. There are so many videos where the camera operator is so concerned with getting the shot that he neglects to interact with the world in a responsible way.
..who knows?, bringing some awareness to this phenomenon might make it slightly less common.
