conflations.
deflections..
and false equivalencies are all the dissenting arguments i am seeing.
and this is not due to me being a "leftist' and therefore not owning the ability to critically digest historical information and come to a conclusion.

someone spent 20 minutes to refute some of the data in this video only to find out the numbers were accurate BUT they did not reveal the specifics and hence the argument was invalid.
kinda like: "the yellow honda ran over a man today crushing his skull"
"HA! the car was GREEN"
"so it was but how does that change the fact the car crushed a mans skull?"

some have suggested that american interventionism is sometimes messy but usually a necessity.so while it may be complicated, sometimes america has had to do what the rest of the world would not.
this (falsely) implies that their is a thread of moral good when america attempts to straighten out an ugly situation in a foreign country and that sometimes, sadly, this leads to unintended consequences that may lead to blowback.
this is pure propaganda and i say this not because i hate my country but because if it were a true statement then america would be where ALL human rights, oppression and suffering under the hands of despotic governments resided worldwide.

see:rwanda, east timor, bangledesh there is a massive amount of places where america had a strict non-interventionist attitude.
and the reason is simple.those countries had nothing to offer, but our government seems to REALLY like working with dictators.easier to deal with one person who is friendly to american interests than a whole population that might (gasp/horror) have the ability to vote your interests down.so not only does america not give two shits about a country with no resources to exploit, they prefer despotic dictators and have installed them when necessary in the name of american interests.

war is always for the same things:resources, land and labor.now for thousands of years it was religion that was the driving force to get the average person to go out and slaughter but for the past 100 years it has been nationalism.

one last thing to address those who have mentioned alqaeda and what they post.
firstly:this has nothing to do with this video and is a false equivalency.
secondly:look up where alqaeda was on the FBI's most wanted list in 1999.look at who trained alqaeda, even funded them.notice anything?

so we can say vietnam was complicated.
ok..i can agree with that but lets remember it would have never even been issue if not for our government creating a false situation in which to enter vietnam in the first place.see:gulf of tonkin.
and again, has nothing to do with the premise of this video.

we can say muslims dont hate our freedom but rather they perceive us as immoral and decadent.
i would agree with that also if we were in the 1950's and the conversation was sayyid qutb and the muslim brotherhood but we are talking alqaeda which is the creation of the american intelligence CIA.
so it is america which created the complications we are speaking of.so whatever propaganda alqaeda uses now to recruit besides just pointing to us bombing the shit out of them is still indirectly a result of american interventionism.

neo-conservative ideology has nothing to do with being conseravtive but everything to do with using the massive might of the military to secure american interests globally.
might makes right.

lets also remember traditionally republicanism tended to be isolationist and faaar less hawkish.so ron paul is just being a traditional republican.of course now we live in bizzarro universe where everything is opposite so we have self-proclaimed republicans admonishing ron paul for ..what exactly? being a republican?
thats just weird.

and please understand that my points are not just some rage against america.i am not,by my commentary, ignoring the vast amount of good and noble things my country has done over the past 100 years or so but i also will not shut my eyes to what my countries foreign policy has done to so many small countries who happen to coincidently all be populated by brown people.

might i suggest:
chalmers johnson "blowback"
bryzenski's "the grand chessboard"
or the stellar book by john perkins "economic hitman"

maybe you will understand ron pauls position on these things.

What's the Parappa reference? Is it the thing that moves out of view from behind the dogs just as the soldiers enter?
>> ^Shepppard:
So, this video makes reference to:
CoD (or, generic WWII shooters), Twisted Metal, Parappa the Rappa, Little Big Planet, Ratchet and Clank, Final Fantasy, Killzone, Uncharted, God of War, Portal, Infamous, Tekken, MLB/NFL generic games, Metal Gear, Modern Warfare 3, Dead Space, Bioshock, Hitman, Resistance and Assassins Creed.
Not sure if the bartender is supposed to be from somewhere, though.

Nope, that's the Mk.II or III, whichever is in MGS4, the parappa is on the wall behind the chick in the booth, it's just a crappy little drawing, but it's a dog in a red hat with a purple shirt.

Pause at 31 seconds, just before it switches back to the two soldiers, he's on the right side.

Hugh Grant Owns Journalist - Exposes Media Phone Hacking

Porksandwich says...

One paper got caught doing it, they say they all do it. I think if one "news" arm of a bigger company got caught, all of that company should be suspect and be investigated and penalized heavily. Heavily to the tune of "Earnings of each division that gets caught with it as far back as they can prove it in any one part to present for them all." They clearly profited from it. Whether they hired outside of their company for someone else to do the dirty work doesn't matter, if the company hires outside EXPECTING this to be done......it's really no different than hiring a hitman.

And it might actually happen...they got MS and them with some pretty good fines compared to what the US has. Although they might have too much corruption to really expose or fine for it all without exposing themselves.

And I don't believe for a minute they will close that paper and not relocate talent or open another "news" source to put them at.

iceman 2011 movie test scene starring michael shannon

quantumushroom says...

The docu footage of the real Kuklinksi around both the Sift and the tube is far more fascinating and horrible, and still will be no matter how much they polish this turd.

Kuklinski loved his wife and kids, who never knew what he did for a living until he was arrested. He was a terrible SOB, but both his parents were horribly abusive.

The vic in this scene was an overconfident partner who threatened to harm Kuklinski's family. Big mistake. They were driving along when Kuklinski shot him, while driving.

The ice cream truck has two stories. Another hitman, a crazy Vietnam vet, drove one into neighborhoods to do hits, but also actually sold ice cream to kids.

Kuklinski never tortured but did hack up victim's bodies after they were dead. He liked using an ice cream truck's freezer to thwart "time of death" measurements from that era's version of "CSI".

After seeing this, it's possible Shannon could be a decent Zod.

Give me another Sam and Max, Kings quest, Space quest or flippin Grim Fandango over this regurgitated shit. its always the same story line with these games.
Not to detract from the graphics and advancement, but its just so bland this crud they make these days.
Thief, now there was a good game. Hitman was good as well.

Thief was one of the best games ever, up till the point the zombies came in. After that it turned into pretty much every other hack'n'slash out there
Hitman was the same thing, the end was stupid.
But games like the battlefield series ain't really about the singleplayer experience, it's the team deathmatch und stuff action which is honed better and better over time. Of course for players who don't see that as a thing they like, it's pointless to see money put into these kinds of games, I for sure would like to see my share of both types, but meh, for some reason the adventure type games and such aren't popular enough on a wide scale...ah well. R.I.P Looking Glass Studios, the maker of many of my most favourite games of all time.

Half-Life: Beyond Black Mesa fan movie

Agree with the above. Stopped when it got to the Ninja combine. Here is a videogame famed for its story and characters...and he makes a short film with nothing but "cool" action scenes stitched together at random.

I hope there will never be a HL movie. Its impossible to do service. Here you have a faceless, nameless maincharacter, a void which the player fills. It works for videogames, but for movies?...well, look what they did to Hitman. The story is told in whispers, foreshadowing, tiny little glimpses over the course of many many hours of play. You slowly build a picture of the world, of the combine, of what might have happaned. Nothing is expressed directly and it helps maintain the mystery. How on earth would you do that in a 2 hour movie? You dont have the hours that a videogame does to slowly build everything little by little, episode by episode. It would be a mess.

So, leave HL alone thanks.

VoodooV says...

He's a shock jock just taking a paycheck to do exactly that...shock people.

He was whining about health care being sucky too until the left wanted to actually do something about it. Then suddenly out of nowhere US health care was the greatest thing in the world and you were a terrorist for suggesting otherwise.

He's nothing more than a paid hitman. I'm sure he'd change his gears in a second if someone paid him enough.
