Ron Hextall Highlights

thesnipe says...

Ron Hextall is THE shit. One of the BEST goalies ever, not to mention his awesome aggressiveness in keeping the crease clear. I still remember watching in awe when he used to come out of the crease and cross over the blue line to stop a breakaway.

[edit] Welcome to the Flyers Hall of Fame, Hextall!

The Official Roast of karaidl! (Parody Talk Post)

dotdude says...

Wow, this is the longest running thread without a karaidl comment.

Karaidl, we have contacted your parents and we are raising your babysitting fee.

Oh, did you hear back from casting concerning Paul Verhoeven’s much-anticipated sequel “Showboys.” I know you were hoping to land the lead role.

So, have you figured out how to spin those tassels, yet.

With all the missing thumbs around here, I was wondering if you might know something about their sun-don’t-shine location.

In VS 3.1, dag says there will be a *youtube invocation to translate your wit for the brain-challenged.

With the new “Hall of Fame” section most Sifters will be pressing their hands in the cement. I guess you’ll have other ideas.

For all we know, karaidl’s avatar is the real poster who wants us to think he is a kid.

The conspiracy-theorist-Sifters here will probably insist you came from area 51.

You wanted a stalker joke . . . the question, is why?

Tasered twice . . . is that what gave you life?

OK, maybe some of those are cheap shots, but that’s all karaidl could afford on his allowance.

Since you can’t drink, here’s a virtual Roy Rogers kiddie cocktail. I’m assuming a Shirley Temple
is not your style.

Well I guess I better let you get back to your most cherished possession.

Merry Siftmas, kid! ‘Hope the Claus dude is generous to you.

John Lydon (Sex Pistols) tells R&R Hall of Fame to Kiss This

That damn viral tag again! (Sift Talk Post)

Thylan says...

Commercial is good.

*meme as a hall of fame post event invocation, maybe. (doesn't having 200+ votes count as this anyway?)

Do away with viral. The too high incidence of miss use/attribution is likely to continue forever otherwise.

What should the penalty be for having an illegal abortion?

joedirt says...

Well, I think I've successfully refuted everyone, I'll now take my leave confident that I've changed lives..

BWHAHAHAHA! Post that in the siftquote Hall of Fame!

I know you were kidding, but in all seriousness, qruel is right, that these same corner dwelling rightous (not in the 80s way) folk are totally against education and condoms. So you can't defend their good works and say "everyone is for reducing unwanted pregnancies" and then sabotage everything with ridiculous efforts like taking science out of science books and replacing it with religious dogma. You can't block efforts at education and possible condom programs in high schools and then say that you care about unwanted fetuses. I guess you only care AFTER someone gets pregnant, not before when something can actually be done (ie. education, contraception).

You have the Dominos-town in FL banning anyone in town from selling condoms. Yet these same loons would run around preaching to passersby with their fetus pictures.

3 PS3's

sometimes says...

ahh, pathetic nerd bragging rights. about as thrilling as braging about your WoW character.

"you may be trying to cover up your lack of a ps3 by buying a Wii..."

and what does buying 3 ps3s attempt to cover?

he has:
3 ps3s, a broken hand, and a guaranteed spot in the 40-year-old-virgin hall of fame.

Holocaust in Indonesia

rickegee says...

I should have re-posted with sterner language. Bad fedquip, bad bad fedquip.

But you can't seriously be comparing a productive and provocative member like fedquip to CBSStarsWithGuns or BambooBoyz or any other recent members of the ban hall of fame.

mlx caught it and correctly interpreted the rule. The video is not totally specious like a commercial for tax products or boys beating each other with bamboo sticks. In fact, it is a fairly compelling vid that I believe belongs on the Sift.

In the Gwaan post, I found that this segment had very little to do with the anti-globalization argument that Pilger was trying to make and was an enormous and misbegotten stretch on Pilger's part. As a stand-alone piece, it is much, much stronger and focuses the proper attention on the 'silent' massacre of Chinese citizens that occurred.

I do like the idea of siftbot covering things up. Siftbot! Produce Hoffa and the reason for the WTC7 collapse!

How to wake your girlfriend (:10 sec)

deputydog says...

'> wouldn't have been so funny if she broke her spine on landing.

Or if she got tangled in an electrical wire and fell into a hot tub?

....either way once the cops found your pre-existing discussion of it online, you're going to jail'

Fucking hell Deathcow, those comments made me hurt with laughter. They belong in the hall of fame. Quality.

Pete Rose Sings . . . Really.

Alice Cooper - School's Out

Goofball_Jones says...

Also, this is with the BAND called Alice Cooper too. The band was named this, and the lead singer just took the name as his own too. But the original band was together right up to when "Alice" went solo with "Welcome to My Nightmare" and beyond. The band was Glen Buxton on guitar, Dennis Dunaway on bass, Neal Smith on drums and Michael Bruce on keyboards. Buxton died in 1997 but not before he got to see his old bandmates...including Alice...once again.

I wonder if he ever gets inducted to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame if he will go in as a solo act or the band together. I personally liked everything up to (and including) "Welcome to My Nightmare", but the things afterward were just okay.

The Who - Shakin' All Over

Farhad2000 says...

It's the Who, live in concert. There is nothing else to say.

The Who are an English rock band that first came to prominence in the 1960s. They grew to be considered one of the greatest and most influential rock bands of all time, in addition to being "possibly the greatest live band ever."

The group originally had four members, but drummer Keith Moon died in 1978 and bassist John Entwistle in 2002. The two remaining members, guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Pete Townshend and vocalist Roger Daltrey, continue to perform as The Who. Their most recent studio album, Endless Wire, was released in 2006. The Who are #8 on VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock, #9 on VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of Rock 'n' Roll and the #8 artist of all time on acclaimedmusic.net.

From mod rockers to rock operas to hard rock, The Who reigned triumphant as prime contenders, in the minds of many, for the title of World's Greatest Rock Band. - The Who's display at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Prince: The Superbowl Show (1 of 2)

Farhad2000 says...

Gwaan I would disagree with you on that.

I watched the game and it was awesome, Devin Hester's kickoff TD was just too much to handle at the bar I was at. The rest was Peyton Manning basically solidify his place in the NFL Hall of Fame. Rex Grossman failing his team by getting sacked twice in a row. The Colts had a better team and wanted it more then the Bears.

The half time show I thought was pretty shit. Ever since that Janet Jackson debacle they haven't really had any modern stars in the half time shows. Sad.
