This is not a question of right versus left. No matter who pretends to run the show, it's really the bureaucrats. Medicare and Medicaid fraud has been rampant since those program began. You think these dumb bastards care about "your" money or health? Once they get it, it's their money. And unlike a private company, gummint never goes out of business.



It's not about the government making it more efficient, it's about taking out all the middle-man, money-grubbing hands in-between. Removing several layers of middle-men will outweigh the added inefficiency by the government taking over.

Thank you. I think most people have chosen to believe that Jackson was guilty just because the media has told them to / it's easier / MJ was quite eccentric (putting it mildly). But if you actually take the time to look into the case, you start to find out things like the whole family of the accuser has a history of committing crimes and launching phony lawsuits. When you actually read about the trial, it's suddenly much less clear-cut than what most people seem to think.

I agree that the insurance industry is a buearucratic expense. It is an administrative roadblock in the relationship between consumers and providers, contributing little. But 'national health care' as yearned for by liberals simply replaces one big phat expensive useless bureaucratic middleman (insurance) with a completely NEW one (government). I see very little logic or merit in that approach.

Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and other large social programs are insolvent failures. Yet they all had the same sentiments as national health care. But that never stops them from being 'epic fails' on a scale grander than the insurance industry.

So why is that? Corrupt systems. Once you give a corrupt system a pile of money, that system is destined to waste, steal, misappropriate, and mismanage it. It happened with Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, et al... It is inevitable that it would happen again with national health care.

I look at Obama's proposals and the other plans being served up by Democrats & liberals and I see nothing but naked money-grubbing for a new stream of unaccountable, unfettered tax revenue. I'm not 100% against the idea of a single payer system. I just don't think that GOVERNMENT should be allowed anywhere near it.

I work at a zoo. I was talking to a kid about bats, sharing that they're good to have around because they eat mosquitoes. Arcade stick or a fight pad is an essential! I'm planning on buying a 360 solely for this game and HD Remix, and Live Arcade, and some other stuff, and RE5. I've been practicing by grubbing it out with Super SFII Turbo Revival on my DS, until then, which is still alittle TOO addicting as it is. Doesn't bode well when I finally get my hands on IV. I was never a fan of the Alpha (mainly due to the death of arcades and it's rarity in the wild except at places like Funspot which is a bit of a drive from home) series so hopefully I won't be missing too much in IV. Marvel vs Capcom 3 next, please please please!

Just an observation: Apparently you're either a Republican or a Democrat. There can be no middle ground if I were to believe some of the posts here.

My feeling is that people need to be responsible for their actions. If you purchased a house you can't afford, why should I bail you out? I hate the sense of entitlement I see going on. People aren't entitled to a damn thing other than what the constitution spells out. You aren't entitled to a $20+/hr job. You aren't entitled to a house. These are things that must be earned via providing a service that someone needs and is willing to pay for. You might classify that as Republican thinking.

Yet, I also think the tax cuts aren't the way out of this mess. I agree with the notion that if we are going to spend hundreds of billions on a stimulus, we should have something to show for it, like new roads, an updated power grid that doesn't knock out a third of the country's power when someone flips the wrong switch, and maybe some alternate energy to boot. Woah, now I'm a bleeding heart liberal Democrat! How'd that happen?

The war in Iraq is a catastrofuck by any reasonable measure. I thought it was a bad idea from day one (you know, back when opposition to that war made you anti-American or pro-terrorist), and I stand vindicated today (though this is a point I would have been glad to be wrong on given the human losses).

So my point is you can't just bin people into the extremes of the two camps. Being a Democrat doesn't automagically make you a hardcore socialist, and believing in personal and financial responsibility doesn't make you a money grubbing warmonger.

In any case, I'm glad to see Obama found his voice. Being bipartisan is great, but when the other side is proven wrong, it's time to press on without them.
