President Obama's Statement on Osama bin Laden's Death

quantumushroom says...

It's easy to scoff at other human's rights when you're in the majority that decides the value affixed to those rights. But what if you weren't?

Whites are already minorities, both by corruption and deliberately erasing American principles and history. Or didn't you notice that Whites are exempt from equal protection under the law ("hate crimes") when the assailant(s) are Black? Either everyone has the same rights or no one has any rights. And right now, you know as well as I do if you utter anything a minority finds offensive in 'polite' company--including demonstrable facts--our vicious, retarded 'multi-cultural' society-keepers will escort you to the street. And really, what is a "minority" anyway? Women outnumber men and yet the former remains a minority. Whites are already minorities in California. There is no "reverse affirmative action" there.

Let me put it in a way that might pique your sensibilities. It's only a matter of time before white people are no longer the majority in the US. I'm just assuming you're white, by the way. So, let's say Latinos and Hispanics make up the majority vote in ten years or so: let's say it's the year 2022.

And let's say they think you should pay trillions in foreign aid for South America and Mexico, and so they vote that as national policy. And let's say they think the US should protect interests in that region, so they send a lot of the poor, disenfranchised whites (who in this version of the future now make up the majority of the military) to be international defense for places like Mexico and Guatemala and Brasil and so on.

And they start to talk how they're the indigenous people of the Americas, and white people are just trespassers who staked their claim via conquest and war.

This is a retarded argument; I know you didn't create it, but yeah, it's out there, and "they" will believe anything as "they" have never been taught differently. These "clever" lefties who claim Whites were trespassers in primitive centuries the world over is ridiculous. Back then there were no unified nations with solid borders, language and culture in the New World to invade, just warring Indian "nations". They forget that England and France, countries filled with White guys--were at war with each other for centuries. And let's not forget all the Asian nations, each one a cultural gem...that wants all other Asian peoples destroyed. The Chinese and Japanese are mortal enemies, and neither likes Koreans.

Within years, you and your family are deported to Denmark - that is if any of you survived the civil war. And what if you lose the right to protest, or vote, or the right of Habeas Corpus? Who will stand up for you? Those already oppressed who were once in the majority? Or would you want some Libertarian-Latino to recognize your rights because you are a living, breathing human being?

If Mexican and African minorities are the future for America, I don't expect any respect of Whites' rights, or right to exist, just like now. There's a whole poor-me victimization industry out there. They create enemies (and excuses) out of whole cloth.

If you want a glimpse of America's fucked-up future, look at Mexico. Mexicans are fine people and Mexican immigrants who assimilate have enriched America, yet somehow their original cultural model in Mexico is simply fucked, an entire nation with enormous natural resources yet run by kleptocrats and drug lords. Anyone concerned with American 'plutocracy' should view the shit going on down yonder.

You sort-of asked but I'm telling you--all of you--anyway. When the White American population falls below 50%, it's Game Over for American principles. America in 2050 will be an even bigger parody of what it is now. Detroit is the future of America. Brokeass idiot California is the future of America. Americans all over are voting with their feet right now. They're leaving liberal meccas and moving to business-friendly states with low taxes (don't expect to hear anything about it on CNN or MS-DNC). But it can't last. Soon there'll be nowhere to run.

I've already made peace with the idea that there will be a civil war, hopefully States against the federal leviathan. And I fully expect DC to turn a war of principles into a racial thang to save its ugly ass.

This isn't about racial "superiority" in the slightest, but if you'll direct your attention to the screen, which races have invented the most advanced tech, including the best kinds of government (so far)? Don't answer that, you'll just be nailed to the cross of tolerance.

I'm Jewish (by blood, not faith) so I figure I'm screwed anyway. I guess I can scooch to Israel. Observe that many of the new kickass technologies were invented by Israelis, while Silicon Valley is stuck holding its dick with eco-green bullshit. "Next year in Jerusalem!" Nice and peaceful over there.

Really, I don't overly give a shit any more. The wrong people now control schools that shouldn't even exist, so the generations coming up are ignorami. The wrong peeps run most of the media and entertainment that arguably appeal to the worst sides of humanity. Freedom is hard work. Who wants that?

Getting angry at me for telling the truth will just waste your time. I already know how you FEEL. Those loudly announcing that neurosurgeons and witch doctors are cultural equals in the name of multicultural tolerance now run the show. And when the show ends they quietly go see the neurosurgeon.

Libertarian ethos ain't gonna save us. Neither will socialism. Mayhap it would be better if the world ended next year.

You can't hold a trial for a vermin who declares war on an entire society, hell, an entire civilization. It's as moronic as trying to "understand"--in the moment--the socio-cultural-economic motives of someone trying to kill you in an alley.
All we had to do was threaten to level mecca and the 'good' muslims would've turned his raggedy ass in by September 13th, 2001.
War works.

Of course we can hold trial for someone who declares war on entire societies. Yes, very much so. We can hold trial, or at least attempt to hold trial, for anyone. And we should.

Yeah, this sucks HARD. I bought one game over PSN as a one off type thing (I had to have Resident Evil 2 on my PSP, rarrgghh) years ago, and now I gotta worry about this? Is it true they used no encryption whatsoever for storing user info? Fucking TEXT files Sony, really?
The fact that they waited 5 whole days to tell anyone really makes me doubt whether they're being totally honest with what they have told us. I truly feel for you PS3 owners, hope everything turns out OK.

No...everything is NOT ok...somebody used my bank info to pull out money and spend it on booze and cocaine.

I cannot even believe this

Zero Punctuation: Dragon Age II

>> ^Xaielao:

He is right on every point. The combat is far worse if you ask me compared to the original. Yes it has a lot of flash and style and gibs raining everywhere but unless your a huge Soul Caliber fan you'll find battles are over so quickly and things are so chaotic that there is absolutely no tactics to them what so ever. Even the big battles with the dragons require no more thought than the random gangs that look like each other that assault you at every other point in the game. And I played it on Hard even as I had heard that it adds a bit more challenge and lets you strategize much more, but I found it just wasn't the case in all but perhaps three or four fights through the entire game.
In the end the game is a down and out failure and EA knows it. The game had zero actual plot, crack addict (or 2 year old attention span) combat, no exploration, completely linear zones, the same two dungeons for 15 different events and largely boring characters with a tenth the draw and character of the originals companions.
My biggest complaint about DA2 is the lack of content. Sure it's a fairly long game but I spent 45 hours in the game and I did every single thing there was to do. I did every quest, found every resource node, every single bit of lore to be found, all of it. Likewise I did the same with my first run through of DA:O only it took me around 200 hours for that one because it was so deep of content and rich of story that I enjoyed every second of the game. Some I'm sure (if not most of the console players) ran through the game and ignored all the little interesting bits of story you could find, lore you could discover and all the side events and cool tidbits you could gain by exploring the world and it's deep history. But I personally love that stuff so when I discovered that it was sorely lacking in the sequel I was most disappointed.
I'm not saying Origins was without fault, but as a PC game that harkened back to the golden days of cRPGs it was amazing. I understand on the console the combat wasn't very good because it lacked the camera angles and the strategy of the PC version (It was developed as a PC game, EA just forced the game to be pushed back half a year so a console version could be made). But it was easily the best cRPG from Bioware since Baulder's Gate 2. Now I just hope EA learned a lesson. You cant push a game out in 1.3 years and expect it to even remotely compete with the original and perhaps the greedy fucks will give Bioware 2-3 years to make the third game.

It's fucking EA man. I haven't trusted them since battlefield 2 recieved shocking support. Releasing new expansion packs before they'd fixed a single bug in order to cash in. Releasing packs too soon so the game didn't even find a foothold.

I said i'd never buy an EA game ever again until it had been out an entire year and everyone uniformly said it was awesome. Someone told me 5 months or so ago that EA were changing their development cycle in order to shake off the ... atrocities to gaming that they'd contributed.

Guess they didn't get round to that after all? Colour me surprised. They are the major player in the gradual degradation of games over the years. These guys are spoonfeeding people warm shit, and people are going back for more. When did expectations get so low!?

Wow - and I thought I typed long posts. I tip my helm, sir.
I enjoy WoW for various reasons. It has the solo experience down to a T and you can find enjoyable ways to spend your time doing PVP, or dailies, or solo questing, or PUG dungeons (shudder), or crafting, of achievements, or other stuff. If you're in a fun guild then you can do dungeons & raids for fun as well. It isn't just the 'lewts' and numbers. Yahtzee has it wrong there. Any raider worth his salt will tell you without blinking it is the fun of raiding with friends, and solving what are (essentially) multi-player puzzles.
And you don't have to be 'addicted' to do it. I putz around in WoW for maybe an hour or two in the late evenings on 2 or 3 nights a week after the kids are down & the wife is doing other stuff. I was easily able to get to level 85 in a couple weeks that way (plus a day or two of multi-hour gaming over the holiday). My guild raids one night a week, for a 2-hour stint. Easily doable while leaving plenty of time for myraids of other interests. Moderation. It's all about moderation.

I knew that'd be a long post, but I was trying to include ALL (or almost all) the issues I've had with MMO's and WoW in specific. I felt giving a "summarily summarized" post would be nothing more than noise -- as I've seen my fair share of on "x" MMO forum.

The only reason I posted anything of that length is that I hate to be misunderstood. If there's one thing I've learned on the Internet is that: while being succinct is nice and prudent were it can be used (without compromising your premise and argument), it's a horrific thing to do when you're trying to make useful observations and criticisms. Also, when giving solutions for the target of the criticism. For programmers (and I've been there) the more someone tries to "succinctly critique" a request/argument for you, the less helpful it is, for you. Though my statement may have been superfluous, I did want to cover all my issues with the approach of designers to current MMO design.

Some people read it (as I would assume you read did) and voted it up, so I'd say some appreciate a thorough approach. It's easy to write a lot about this subject for the mere reason that I've played so many others MMOs other than WoW. Each one adds one or two more things to the mix, but there has yet to be a revolution in the mechanics. I, of which, believe that this is something long past due.

The short fact is that I'm someone with programming experience and a slightly higher amount of design experience; that has also played just about every game ever made. Definitely, I've played all the game types. I would just like one MMO to get-it-right!

I also allowed this to be a bit longer to make sure my response didn't sound rude.

But, raids need HEAVY work still. They are VERY much not for an average player -- once again killing MAIN content for 90% of the playerbase. Blizzard needs to take note that every MMO that has gone to a Free2Play model is now back in business, even though they were dying (due to WoW and saturation). Some have seen a quadrupling in profits, not to even mention what happened number wise to the playerbase.

Actually, the real danger in paying for WoW is that your money helps line the pockets of liberal videogame makers. Naw, I'm just kidding, Bobby Kotick donates to the Republican party.

But, seriously -- numbers, numbers. What do those pesky imaginary characters remind me of? Oh! I know -- Videosift! Another dangerous liberal hot spot, plagued by an ever increasing need to sift more and MORE AND MORE videos -- but for what?! To gain powers!! Powers? For what?! TO BETTER SIFT VIDEOS!! Muahahaha! I feel sorry for the artists that work on games like this. Its pretty much a given that the end product as a whole will be a pile of shit. ( even a company like blizzard churns out core game play in its MMO's that when compared to single player games is a buggy shit feast. (and even then they are doing a huge achievement keeping things even mildly working and ballenced).

I bet that the actual game play in this DC universe game bares absaluty nothing to the verbs that would be found within the comics this is about as analgouse to being immersed in the world as playing a DC Card game.

In fact I would prefer a card game over some shitty MMO as a card game allows the players mind to fill in the blanks where as a MMO like this will likely be crammed full of utterly shit grind game play ,generic combat shoe horned together to work with latency issues ,pore animation and terrible story deliverd in the most artificial and detrimental way possible for commic book style narrative.

Im sure enoughf people will buy this purely because of the visual context that it will justify them to keep doing this sort of shit.

On the other hand if in the 1 in a million chance it works and works well then that would be really cool. I would rather have a decent MMO around a differnt IP though ( Stargate ,StarWars, StarTreck, ) Ips that actual benefit and probably could only ever realy work properly from MMO game play.
