Stephen Stills - Crossroads/You Can't Catch Me
It's awesome to see someone playing like this using a guitar pick.
I've always seen a rift between people who fingerpick using their fingernails, and people who use picks.
He appears to be doing both, picking and finger-picking. Now, that makes this much more awesome.

See, there's a good example - Chet Atkins, the amazing finger picking master - all his knowledge, skill and creativity is now gone. There will be no more new Chet Atkins songs - ever again.

I'm very sorry for your loss, dag. I hope you got to say goodbye and make peace with what happened. If there's anything you need or want, you have only to ask.
I'm with Aubrey too. Hopefully death will be cured in our lifetimes.

Gwiz665 covers 'Angeles' by Elliott Smith
One of my favorites from Mr. Smith, nice rendition. I never could get a hold of finger picking, myself.

That's some nice finger-picking.
Acoustic guitar goodness: Craig D'Andrea - "Morrison County"
As a guitar player who does a lot of finger-picking this is both very inspiring and very depressing.
Effing Amazing Guitar Fingerstyle
Ahhh! Great finger-picking but his guitar is not in tune! Ahhhh! My ears! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Whoever you are, guy, you need to purchase a tuner and use it before you create a video that other humans are supposed to watch.
"Deep River Blues" Doc Watson
SnoozeDr you, lucky...!!! Wow, I would have loved to have seen/heard that. Old Piedmont mountain-y style finger picking is the happiest music ever played.
Keep it comin.

OH GOD LED ZEPPELIN USED A VERY SIMILAR CHORD PROGRESSION WITH A VERY SIMILAR FINGER-PICKING PATTERN LET'S GET THEM!!!
Anyway, this video failed to impress me at all.
Like I said: Only the really hardcore fans.

I'd heard of Etta Baker before finding your other vids of her, but didn't really know her music. She really was amazing. I've downvoted posts just for being a slideshow instead of actual video, but this one is definitely worth an exception (I've added it to my Buried Treasure playlist).
And speaking of finger picking - check out these two incredible kids.

Isn't it though? I knew when I sifted this, it wouldn't publish because it's just audio. Not many people know of this woman unfortunately. There's so little video of her around, I just had to post it long enough to get into my fingerpicking playlist.
She's one-of-a-kind. I could listen to her all day

Etta Baker - Railroad Bill (undated - rare - audio only)
Yes, I know...it's VIDEOsift, but please excuse this one for me?
I've been looking for something of this incredible woman for a long time now. She was legend in N.C. as one of oldest piedmont blues guitarist around. She IS piedmont blues.
She died last year at 93. I saw an interview of her last year and instantly loved this lady. She was sitting in her backyard in an old folding lounge chair playing for the interviewer. If anyone comes across any video of her, please let me know?
This is the best example of old piedmont mountain finger picking around. So sweet
Guitar Masters - Andrés Segovia plays "Asturias"
i play electric lead, and acoustic lead. But i have never been able to finger pick like these pros. Im not sure if boom really thinks its fake, but its not. Ive played with some mariachi style pickers and they can really move, but i pull out the electric and we even out!
Its great to hear and see some one other than that Stephan guy who likes to sell the guitars on TV.
Great find Farhad.
