I just ran across this picture yesterday, the Trump family portrait:

Ha, isn't that great! I don't know what Slovenian sentiment in general is towards American taste, but let me assure that their family photo is tacky even by American standards. Just thought you might want to share this with your countrymen, as I'm sure Melania is a great source of pride to you all.

edit: Yes, that is a real picture, not photoshopped:

Idiots Topple a 20 Million Year Old Rock Formation

longde says...

When a person warned that the men should remove the video before they go to jail, Hall fired back.

"Nobody’s going to jail," he wrote. You have a 2,000 lb boulder that is teetering on a 2"[sic] dirt ledge and about ready to fall off on it’s [sic] own. 5 minutes before this video we watched a family with many small children walk right below the rock to take a family photo. We didn’t do anything until they were gone because we didn’t want anyone to get hurt. One gust of wind and that rock was falling whether someone was there or not. ...

"I’ll take my chances with the cops rather then my conscience after hearing a family was crushed to death by a rock I was prompted to move."

Swalberg said just because a rock looks loose, it doesn’t mean people should knock it over.

The third owl looks like me at every family photo I have ever been in. I can read his mind...
"Seriously, we have to do this AGAIN!?!"
"I love you guys and all but this so staged and fake!"
"Are we finished yet?"
"F this! What time is lunch?"

Mr. Sensitive? LOL! Look in the mirror. Besides it doesn't matter, the point(s) is/are moot. The powers that be have spoken. And it was correctly duped. I hope that helps as well.

The hobbling thing was a joke, Mr. sensitive. You can't hobble with invocations anyway. Did you not know that?

Your dictionary definition isn't very good. By this definition, most music videos would be considered background music.

Background/foreground music has less to do with screens and observable sources and more to do with focus, hence the 'back' in background.
Here are some examples that should help you better understand the distinction.

Background music would be:
-Music under dialogue in a film
-Music accompanying a slide show of family photos
-Music during a wedding procession
-Anything where music plays a supporting role rather than being the focus of attention

Foreground music would be:
-Music from a concert (live or recorded)
-Music from a music video
-Music from mashups featuring chickens singing with hardcore metal bands.
-Anything where the music is the focal point.

I hope this helps.

Background music is background music. It was the same exact video with different background music.... So now you're going to hobble me out of spite? Real mature.. FYI here's what the dictionary considers background music: "Music accompanying action on the screen, but coming from no discernible source within the film." It seems their definition and mine are one in the same. A mashup does not fit into this definition.

Mashups are not a video of a rooster crowing with a death metal soundtrack slapped in the background. As you know, the music is taken from an actual song from an actual artist and mixed the with vocs from another actual song from another actual artist and then slapped on one of the two artists music videos. Just a tad bit different there.

I don't think 'background music' means what you think it means. The music in the video I submitted was not accompaniment, it was the foreground. If your interpretation of 'background music' were correct, then half the mashups on this site would be considered dupes. *hobble

Duckman, you incorrectly duped one of my vids. Try and be a bit more careful in the future or I'm going to hobble your waterproof ass.

Hmm, which one? Ive been pretty careful about duping... N/M I found it, and it was correctly duped. From the FAQ: "Minor changes in content, like a few additional insignificant seconds of video or alternate background music, will still be considered dupes."

Sarah Palin's daughter pregnant!

moonsammy says...

>> ^kronosposeidon:

There's rumor that Trig (the baby with Down Syndrome) is Palin's daughter's daughter, and not her own.
...
...[The daughter] simultaneously spent 7 months recuperating and caring for her gestating mother.
Does sound a little suspicious, but I'm not aware of any other evidence beyond what I just stated.

Well, There are also photos rather late in the pregnancy (7 months, I think) showing Sarah with no obvious pregnancy signs, and some family photos from earlier (5 months maybe?) where the daughter is *maybe* showing a bit of a bump. I wasn't convinced by these, though a 40+ woman on her fifth pregnancy at 7 months *not* very obviously showing seems a bit unlikely.

Somewhat more interesting to me were the circumstances of the birth. Mrs. Palin went into labor (possibly early stage) while at a convention of some sort and she was due to give a keynote speech. She decided to go ahead with it, then afterwards fly home (from Texas - 8+ hours I think) and drive another 45 minutes or so to get to her small town hospital. While a month early with a Downs baby at age 43(?). Assuming the rumor is false (I'm undecided) I feel this demonstrates serious negligence on the governor's part - she had to know that there was a not insignificant risk involved.

I have no desire to see Sarah Palin's daughter used for any sort of political advantage, or really to know much about her at all - it's none of my business. I'm a bit loathe to even submit this comment in case the whole thing is complete BS, but anything which would show a significant deficiency in a potential US President's judgment on important matters *is* my business. I'd like to hear at least some sort of response to the allegation - to explain the seemingly risky travel, if nothing else.

What do you want or what are you giving for Christmas? Gift Ideas Accepted Here (Blog Entry by lucky760)

gorgonheap says...

Well being a G.I. Joe fan I want the 25th Anniversary collection. A new electric shaver. And a xbox 360 would be nice but I'm not holding out for it. (My original xbox is being stupid, and no it's not the operators fault.)

For the Wife I got her a new watch, A bathrobe, and a generous gift card to her favorite shoe store. I also bought her the moonlight book series. She wouldn't tell me anything else.

Both our parents are getting Family photo's of us (because they don't want us to be poor they asked us not to give them anything.) But this is a fairly cheep gift and it's at least something.

As for siblings, they aren't sparing a dime on us so we're holding off any gifting exchanges until I'm done with school and making more then a paupers living.

Photograph Transformed to 3D model

djsunkid says...

w00t!!!! It's totally something that you can download!!! Check it: http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~dhoiem/projects/popup/

I haven't gotten started yet because I'm a bit intimidated by this 100mb "matlab" thing, but it's interesting that you seem to feed it this bunch of pictures with predefined "3d-ness" and then maybe it learns how pictures map onto 3d stuff, and then it goes on and can do your pictures... or something? Anyway, I plan on fooling around a bit with it in the next few days and see if I can make anything cool with it.

I love how it works even with the painting of the ship! I wonder if you could use it to make virtual pop-up books out of your family photo album or something. I wonder if they are considering creating something like that either as a consumer software package, or perhaps as a small business.

In any case, really neat technology.
