Drumming for Glorious Leader
I dunno...those drum solos were a tad bit bourgeois.
Washing Machine's Got Rhythm
This man needs to donate (or sell) his washing machine to one of those improv instrument groups... this is an awesome drum solo...
Buddy Rich drum solo at the Hague, 1978
I am and always have been completely underwhelmed by every Buddy Rich drum solo. Any fool can play fast.
Frank Zappa - Greatest Drum Solo
Come on! Two more votes for that great drum solo and some rare Zappa footage!
Frank Zappa - Greatest Drum Solo
Good stuff. Usually drum solos are the very definition of boring but some of them stand out. The best one I ever heard was David Bowie's drummer Dennis Davis, on his 1976 Station to Station tour. They played at the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island and the show was broadcast on the King Biscuit Flour Hour. Dennis has a drum solo during "Panic in Detroit" and I have never heard any musician so connected with his instrument as Dennis is on that solo.
Autotune the Cats!
Awesome. Drum solo!
"This Little Light of Mine" - Ari Hoenig solo drums
First time I've heard that song in a drum solo
Will Rock Band Drums Teach You Real World Drumming?
RB teaches you that drumming is basically doing the same thing over and over again. So I think yes, it totally helps teach you drumming, because you learn, "Hey, I'm not Neil Peart. I'm not going to unleash any gnarly drum solos, I just have to learn not to get bored playing the same damn thing for 3-10 minutes." But I guess the same could be said for bass...
The Faces - I'm Losing You
Admittedly, I don't necessarily have the best ear for music, but the timing seemed to slip in a couple of places, and it didn't sound like the bass and organ were out of sync.
When it comes to drum solos, it's hard for me not to compare to mickey and billy.
The Faces - I'm Losing You
Thank you for the feed back Jonny.
The drummer is Kenny Jones. He played for the Who after Kieth Moon passed, and those are some pretty big shoes to fill.
Keith Moon may be the best rock drummer ever. Kenny Jones was Damn good.
Why do you think He was a weak link in this live vid? Not that I'm defending the 1970's drum solo... it didn't age well.
I'm just looking for discussion.
The Faces - I'm Losing You
My first comment is that you should vote for your own vids!
Not the tightest performance - don't know the drummer, but he seems to be the weak link. The drum solo blew chunks, but the keys and guitars were pretty rocking.

Rush YYZ - Played by a 13 Year Old Girl Drummer!
I'm sorry, but i'm not that impressed with this at all. Sure the girl is 13 and i'm sure she'll be great in 10 years. If we want to make a big deal about a young drummer, we may as well do it right. Check out Tony Royster:
