Just want you to know that I've watched this at least once a day since I found it on eric3579's slam poetry playlist a few weeks ago. I'm in a 1200 mile long-distance thing with my lady, and this poem helps us a lot. This man is a hero. Thanks for the post; even a year later, it still echoes...

Tell you what, I'm usually not comfortable sifting somebody else's stuff, so would you be ok with emailing me the video and me reuploading it to Youtube? Hey, I noticed that you were taking ASL lessons previously...how's it coming? I used to sign semi-decently for a deaf-impaired guy , but I'm way out of practice due to nobody around me knowing ASL...I've been practicing recently. In any case, I thought this sift might interest you:

I try not to pimp mah sifts, but I'm afraid of this dying in queue with 9 votes!

While looking for a poem by Shihan, I stumbled upon a poem by Rives, the same guy who did a great slam poem on sign language and deaf kids in high school. He's got other great stuff, but I decided to sift this one first. There's a few skips in the audio, but not so bad as to mask Rives's great sense of humor and terrific flow.
