Man of Steel - Teaser Trailer

Deano says...

>> ^VoodooV:

One of the worst movies in the world, Darkman, had one of the best trailers. "Who is Darkman?" No one fucking knew so they all went go to see it.

I'd hardly agree it was "one of the worst movies in the world". It was meant to be OTT, campy and fun and then succeeded as a cult film.

@berticus
`generally i see 'the community' use things like "LGBT" but people even have problems with that.`

As I said in earlier discussions I prefer the term LGBT for the channel, even though a channel name change is not possible AFAIK. What problems do you refer to?
Maybe related to these?
http://science.videosift.com/talk/Bisuexual-Species

I´d rephrase "This channel is for videos discussing homosexuality and related issues." to "This channel is for videos discussing LGBT and related issues."
It would prevent semantic problems.

OT / we do also have semantic problems with the channels * cult (also being used for cult films) and * bravo (i.e. not * wow)

I think you'll find that videogame has a somewhat cult following. It was so lambasted against by congress, and was so awful in regards to gaming.

You can read more about it here:

Hey, Kommie
Loved your night trap video... wtf is up with that? Different strokes indeed. Anyhow, I took it out of the cultsift queue- hoping to keep that clearly defined and uncluttered with "cult" films and such.

Videodrome - Trailer

Errata: Videodrome's cult film status has made it a popular source for sampling and homage in industrial and heavy metal music. It ranks tenth on the Top 1319 Sample Sources list and has been sampled in at least 32 individual songs. Fortnight of Fright!

Koyaanisqatsi - Resource

Farhad2000 says...

I love this movie.

Koyaanisqatsi: Life out of Balance is a 1982 documentary film directed by Godfrey Reggio with music composed by minimalist composer Philip Glass and cinematography by Ron Fricke. The film consists primarily of slow motion and time-lapse photography of cities and natural landscapes across the United States. The documentary contains neither dialog nor narration: its tone is set by the juxtaposition of images and the music that accompanies them. In the Hopi language, the word Koyaanisqatsi means 'life of moral corruption and turmoil, life out of balance', and the film implies that modern humanity is living in such a way.

Philip Glass and the Philip Glass Ensemble have toured with the film, playing music live in front of the film screen.

The film is the first in the Qatsi trilogy of films: it is followed by Powaqqatsi (1988) and Naqoyqatsi (2002). The trilogy depicts different aspects of the relationship between man and technology. Koyaanisqatsi is the best known of the trilogy and is considered a cult film. Still, due to copyright issues, the film was out of print for most of the 1990s.

Chris Marker: La Jetee (1962)

Farhad2000 says...

Terry Gilliam's 1995 Twelve Monkeys, an Americanized remake of La Jetée, helped the introduction of this '60s cult film to a broader, younger, audience. The plot was moved from Paris to Philadelphia and the German scientists are now Americans.

This is the newer version which adds English narration. The earlier French narration is far more hypnotic.

Like I love this RickGee, but please change the tags... having simply visonary won't get people to catch your video.
