Last Resort Active Shooter Survival Measures by Alon Stivi

Raveni says...

I know you said it sarcastically, but the National Counterterrorism Center's own report calls it "open source reporting", so good luck on finding a real answer. However, it also says that "most were victims of attacks in Iraq".

Do those 800 students killed by 'terrorists' in 2007 include those that the US bombed in Afghanistan and Pakistan or Israel shot, shelled, or bombed in Gaza? Because there's nothing like some self-defense training to help you prepare for fire raining down from above.

CA Congresswoman - Maybe Marijuana Should Be Legalized in CA

MaxWilder says...

This is an important statement coming from somebody who might actually move the decriminalization movement forward (the Vice Chair of the US House Committee on Homeland Security and Chair of the Subcommittee on Border, Maritime and Global Counterterrorism).

However, let's not put words in her mouth.

She hems and haws quite a bit in order to not give a good soundbite that can be used against her when the inevitable ignorant backlash occurs. The closest she comes is: "Maybe it would be a good pilot program to see how that regulation of marijuana might happen in California, since the populace, the majority of Californians believe maybe that should happen."

I know I'm being a bit anal, I just think quotes should be used only when you are actually quoting. Unless you are being "ironic".

Obama the Neo-Conservative?

jwray says...

The description to this video is just FUD. He has never supported preemptive wars. He voted against the Iraq war and said the troops should have stayed in Afghanistan to finish off Bin Laden and the Taliban. Unlike Iraq, Most of Afghanistan WANTS more troops to help fight a resurgent Taliban (and thereby defend their basic freedoms from those fundamentalist nutjobs who would have women accused of adultery beheaded) Once we've fucked up a country with war we have an obligation to help rebuild it, if that's what you mean by "nation building".

"United Nations, NATO, and the World Bank"
Aside from the World Bank's usury, why show such contempt for international cooperation? One world government is not necessarily a bad thing.

"From the cave-spotted mountains of northwest Pakistan, to the centrifuges spinning beneath Iranian soil, we know that the American people cannot be protected by oceans or the sheer might of our military alone."
Iran actually DOES have centrifuges for enriching fuel for power plants, and such equipment could easily be reallocated to weapons production if Iran wanted to do so. Nothing about that statement is inaccurate, only your FUD interpretation of it is inaccurate. Obama has never supported attacking Iran. Apparently you think acknowledging the existence of a threat we might face is equivalent to advocating war. Irishman makes the same mistake. Obama is not warmongering, he is trying to build international cooperation. Counterterrorism does not require starting any new wars. He has said we will GTFO of Iraq by 2010 and just finish the job in Afghanistan.

"join overwhelming military force with sound judgment"
That's not saying we should start any new wars. The only war he's advocating is finishing the job in Afghanistan.

9/11 conspiracy theory debunked

Farhad2000 says...

There were lots of warnings about an attack occuring. Yet we are lead to believe it was a suprise attack. I still to this day cannot buy that the intelligence community failed in this regard, when it has fought a cold war with the USSR.

The chairman and vice chairman of the 9/11 Commission – New Jersey’s former Republican Governor Thomas Kean and former Democratic Indiana Representative Lee Hamilton, respectively – agreed that the 9/11 attacks could have been prevented.

“The whole story might have been different,” Kean said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on April 4, 2004. Kean cited a string of law-enforcement blunders including the “lack of coordination within the FBI” and the FBI’s failure to understand the significance of Moussaoui’s arrest in August while training to fly passenger jets.

Yet, as the clock ticked down to 9/11, the Bush administration continued to have other priorities. On Aug. 9, Bush gave a nationally televised speech on stem cells, delivering his judgment permitting federal funding for research on 60 preexisting stem-cell lines, but barring government support for work on any other lines of stem cells that would be derived from human embryos.

Scientists complained that the existing lines were too tainted with mouse cells and too limited to be of much value. But the national news media mostly hailed Bush’s split decision as “Solomon-like” and proof that he had greater gravitas than his critics would acknowledge.

CIA Director Tenet said he made one last push to focus Bush on the impending terrorism crisis, but the encounter veered off into meaningless small talk.

“A few weeks after the August 6 PDB was delivered, I followed it to Crawford to make sure the President stayed current on events,” Tenet wrote in his memoir. “This was my first visit to the ranch. I remember the President graciously driving me around the spread in his pickup and my trying to make small talk about the flora and the fauna, none of which were native to Queens,” where Tenet had grown up.

Bush and his senior advisers continued their hostility toward what they viewed as the old Clinton phobia about terrorism and this little-known group called al-Qaeda.

On Sept. 6, 2001, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld threatened a presidential veto of a proposal by Sen. Carl Levin, D-Michigan, seeking to transfer money from strategic missile defense to counterterrorism.

Also on Sept. 6, former Sen. Hart was still trying to galvanize the Bush administration into showing some urgency about the terrorist threat. Hart met with Condoleezza Rice and urged the White House to move faster. Rice agreed to pass on Hart’s concerns to higher-ups.

Teaching Children To Become Martyrs - An Aid Worker Speaks

Farhad2000 says...

Question your sources. Then question your reasoning. For something that would be this *cough important Darly Jones the aid worker doesn't seem to exist outside this video. Let's cut the BS, Do you just think all Muslims and Palestinians are some crazed people just matrying themselves at Israel for the last 40 odd years?

http://www.pierrerehov.com/about.htm

What role does the U.N. play in the terrorist equation?

The UN is in the hands of Arab countries and third world or ex-communists countries. Their hands are tied. The UN has condemned Israel more than any other country in the world, including the regime of Castro, Idi Amin or Kaddahfi. By behaving this way, the UN leaves a door open by not openly condemning terrorist organizations. In addition, through UNRWA, the UN is directly tied to terror organizations such as Hamas, representing 65 percent of their apparatus in the so-called Palestinian refugee camps. As a support to Arab countries, the UN has maintained Palestinians in camps with the hope to "return" into Israel for more than 50 years, therefore making it impossible to settle those populations, which still live in deplorable conditions. Four-hundred million dollars are spent every year, mainly financed by U.S. taxes, to support 23,000 employees of UNRWA, many of whom belong to terrorist organizations (see Congressman Eric Cantor on this subject, and in my film "Hostages of Hatred").
