Apple is the Patriot

dannym3141 jokingly says...

Sure that's a great idea.

I tell you what, why i don't i become EVERYTHING and solve ALL of the world's problems at once? I can solve international tax law by becoming a politician, then i can solve world hunger by becoming head of monsanto, then i can cure cancer by becoming head of McMillan.

That's how problems are solved right? I mean, looking back through history some of our greatest achievements in quality of life were introduced just that same way right? RIGHT? Like when MLK became president to stop racism?

I guess when unions formed and brought about sick pay, working hours, holiday, contracts, safety at work, minimum wage and EVERYTHING else, it was really because one individual person became Prime Minister over here and changed it all. Nothing to do with people gathering together to make the change they want to see.

Oh wait, it turns out you're completely and totally wrong. That would probably be embarrassing for you if you had a shred of self awareness.

Perhaps you'd like to engage your brain before addressing the keyboard? You might also then realise that you have no idea how much i'll pay in tax in my lifetime, nor my contributions to society through other means that money can't buy.

But i tell you what, next time that person working at the supermarket mans the Samaritans hotline and talks someone down from suicide, or a junior doctor saves 3 lives, or a researcher investigates something that leads to a cancer cure, or a cop stops a tragedy...... or a school teacher stands up for a kid being abused at home, or inspires someone to become a doctor, or a local baker gives away food to homeless people every night........ you can go and tell them that they're losers and they will never contribute as much to society as a bunch of rich men who pay people to make phones for them and who pay less ACTUAL (not percentage) tax than many of their own working class employees.

I'll take the loser cheapshot in good faith, you were so off the mark with everything else in your comment that it's actually an endorsement coming from someone like you.

Haha! First of all, they are tax avoiders, not tax dodgers. Secondly, if you don't like it, why don't you work your way up at Apple and change the company from the inside? Or become a legislator and change the law. See if you can get them to pay whatever version of "fair share" you think they "should." (We all know you won't because, if you did, you wouldn't be using a platform or a device created by companies that don't care about what you think their "fair share" of taxes should be.) But, hey, go ahead and "boycott" Apple and other companies to "protest" their failure to adopt your ideas and definitions of "fair shares." See how far that gets you. I'll continue to buy their products and support them.

And meanwhile, the vilified "millionaires and billionaires" will continue to pay far more in taxes than you ever will (currently 44% of federal taxes while the bottom 45% don't pay anything at all) -- just so we're clear on who contributes little to nothing at all and is merely a consumer/loser.

woman destroys third wave feminism in 3 minutes

Asmo says...

Why is it a little sad?

Does it take air away from what ever issue you want to see promoted on the sift? If you want everyone to agree with you, there are plenty of forums of people who will nod along with everything you say. ; )

And I love how because some of us agree with the woman in the video, we're threatened and wronged... That's a great conversational tactic, ascribing negatives to people you disagree with to instantly portray them as venal and weak... X D

So you're complaining because people don't all lockstep to your opinions, and taking cheapshots at the same because they don't...

Where's the empathy now? \= )

A little sad to see this and the other men's rights type video that Enoch submitted so quickly jumping to Top 15. There seem to be a lot of men on the internet that feel threatened and wronged by feminism, and I don't get it. It's not a zero sum situation.

Agree a lot with JustSaying's comment about a" lack of empathy" and "an addiction to differences".

You sneaky, sneaky bastard!

Zero Punctuation: DC Universe Online

Agree and disagree - as a PC MMO player, ya, WoW - big game that's awesome and amazing and and ... but DC Universe plays and is obviously catering to a PS3 audience, so that is actually something to take into consideration when you do a review. What other games are there, how are they different, and junk.
Enjoy these reviews nonetheless, just wish it wasn't such a cheapshot all the time.

So catering to a PS3 audience means designing a shitty MMO? There's great qualities in console games that you can emulate, instead of just taking the PC MMO model and dumbing it down.

Out of curiosity, have you even played the game? The game play itself is significantly harder to master than WoW, requiring that you use combos, dodge incoming attacks and decide power roles. Additionally, having only six powers to choose from means you must use actual strategy in choosing which ones you will be using.

On top of that, they are going to a completely unique MMO game experience. It's plays much more like Arkham Asylum than WoW with fun dialogue, several actual story lines, and the ability to play the game for a short period of time and still manage to accomplish something (about friggin time MMOs), and you can go through the entire game solo without any issues.

Obviously it has some issues...the chat system is horrid and for the most part people rarely use it. Some of the powers are a little buggy, there are a couple of known sound issues, etc. Fairly minor stuff considering its recent release date.

Oh, and there's just something awesome about chasing Lex Luther to the Hall of Doom because he has kidnapped Superman (while they supposedly teamed up to take on Brainiac), confronting him, then challenging him in said Hall of Doom in order to save the Man of Steel.

Oregon football player attacks Boise St. player and crowd

It's already been shown he was threatened with a chair, and punched by some idiot Boise St. fan. That's why he "let loose" on the crowd.

If he would've ignored both of them, I'm sure he would've walked away unscathed. Blount talked trash before the game and ended up with -5 yards rushing. Sore loser and a punk, nothing more.

Perhaps the "punk" is the guy that taunted him and got clocked for it. If he simply minded his own business and let Blount walk off the field like he was doing, this would not have happened. As far as I'm concerned, he got what he asked for. It's poor sportsmanship to rub it in after a loss. Hout should also be suspended for a few games for his bullshit. He caused the whole scene by running his mouth.

As to why Blount "trash talked before the game", do you even know the history behind this game and his comments? Chances are you don't, so I'll educate you. Watch this from last years meeting, then tell me who the "punks" and "losers" are. The cheapshot on our QB took him out for the game, the one on our receiver got the asshat ejected:

I know this isn't the Sift party line but I agree with the Fox puppet. Paul is a great candidate, I'd vote for him if I was American, but the sad truth is, he won't win any elections. He won't win any primaries. Electability might be a stupid phrase but the puppet is right, Paul ain't got it. He's smart, logical and consistent - that's not what the voters want!'

Don't you see the chicken/egg situation with RP though? The media is saying "he's not viable" and the people are listening. Imagine if the media did a 180 and painted him as the righteous underdog...

Not that I agree with the war or have a lot of respect for its supporters, but the whole "gee they sure have a lot of medical problems" angle is pretty weak when you consider that his sample pool is: a bunch of war supporters who aren't enlisted. So uh... the sort of thing that genuinely prevents you from taking part WOULD be represented in a greater proportion among that population, wouldn't it? And yeah... so would just plain self-interest and cowardice. But that's not actually a counter-argument to their goofball positions, and it essentially constitutes an ad hominem attack that does nothing to advance opposition to the war.

I hate it when people who are on my side of the fence on these issues resort to empty rhetoric and cheap stunts to whip up ephemeral applause from the choir. These issues are real and important and they deserve better than cheapshots.
