Mussels Provencal (Steamed Mussels in a White Wine Sauce)

Exactly! That's what I figured. But even prepping things like mirepoix is considered to be 'caramelizing', which involves no sugar and just simply cooked in oil.

I try caramelizing onions in olive oil without sugar, but then that would be 'sauteing'. And if I brown them, it just simply tastes a little burnt. Nothing caramel about that sucker.

it's my guess that maybe you can only caramelize certain types of onions.

Don't you have to add a little brown sugar to caramelise? And sweating the onions off is cokking them in oil on a low to medium heat so they become transparent

I always had trouble differentiating 'sweating' the onion and 'caramelizing' in my own kitchen.

You cook the onion, that's sweating. You cook the onion some more till it burns a little, that's.... a failure.

How exactly do you 'caramelize' onions???

An Overview Of Migraines

Hyperdrive says...

I get the classical migraine. Flashing lights slowly appearing from the periphery of my vision, and spreading until I lose about 60% of my eyesight. After about thirty minutes of this the headache kicks in, which will last for up to a couple of days. I usually feel a bit distant over this period and my speech gets a little slurred on occasion.

After identifying my triggers, the main one being caffeine, I've pretty much got things under control. Probably only a couple of attacks over the whole of last year. I do miss my coffee though, and unfortunately decaffeinated still has more than enough caffeine left over to set me off.

The wonderful aroma when I pass a coffee shop is as near as I get to a caramel frappuchino these days.

When I speak of insanity, I'm talking about the guy that goes around smacking people and claiming that he is healing them by the power of God and to the people who believe it. I am not referring to the woman's decision to become heterosexual.
Because of my limited understanding, I do not presume to know what factors influence sexual orientation, but claiming that choice plays a role has become so taboo that perhaps we fear that discussion. Couldn't choice at least occasionally have something to do with it? Why can't we accept that this woman made a decision about her sexual orientation and leave it at that? Isn't it arrogant to assume that you have such a complete knowledge about the human mind that you know it is impossible for her to decide she isn't gay? Can't we have a say in what we do and who we're attracted to? Who are we to tell her she's gay?
I'm not trying to make any statements about whether same-sex attraction is a choice or not, I just wanted to pose the question because not everyone is the same and sometimes the mind is more powerful than we give it credit for.
So she wants to be straight. I don't care much for the way in which she came to that conclusion, but it's her life and it was her decision to believe that con artist's nonsense. If by some miracle I had found myself in that situation, I would have smacked that guy upside the head.

Choice is not a factor when it comes to preference, only when it comes to action. For example: I'd say I have little to no choice over the fact that I'm sexually attracted to females that are asian or latina with caramel colored skin, brown eyes and brunette hair. But, I do have the choice to act on those preferences just as a homosexual has the choice to act on his or her preference.

Now what we need to do as a society is stop criticizing them for choosing to act upon their preference. I think you are an intelligent individual, but your dogma is keeping you from practicing critical thought at certain times.

Oklahoma State Rep. Goes On Anti-Gay Tirade

Well, I see things have gotten out of control in my absence. Good try Bill O, but you must convince these younglings in their own words.
Younglings, how does science prove queers are legit? Oh wait, it doesn't, because if all you gay people were truly gay, you'd be making no kids, and that'd leave only a few of us, and we couldn't repopulate the world quickly enough after you losers die. Nature dictates, younglings.

I can't tell if you're implying that homosexuality is hereditary. I've said this before, and I stick to it, somebody having a sexual attraction and inclination towards the same sex is no different than my sexual attraction and inclination towards asian women, latin women, round asses, caramel colored skin, and well-pedicured feet. Just because it's with the opposite sex, it doesn't make it more "normal" or any more "natural" for that matter.

A mixture of genetic predisposition affecting hormonal balance and events in one's life are what lead to that person's sexual identity. Yes, I did mention events in one's life. Does that mean that a child being raised by homosexuals will grow up to be homosexual? The answer is no, for the same reason my mother is the antithesis of what I look for in a sexual partner (suck on that Freud). Also, for the same reason children raised in straight families realize that they're homosexual. Usually this sexual identity is realized at a young age, but it's hard for the child to recognize what this means until they become sexually mature.

Lay off gay people, they won't affect you anymore than the straight guys will. In fact, you should be more wary of straight guys because guys like me will steal your woman away and not think twice about it. Your nightmares of being pounded in the ass against your will won't seem as bad as the realization that your lovely "shnukems" is taking some other guy's hot load all over her face...

...who should you REALLY fear?
