I've been bungee jumping a few times and the operators will tend to dunk you waste deep on purpose if you're a smart arse or cocky about jumping.

They did this to one of my mates and had a good laugh as he was jumping and told us what they did to put him in his spot.

All in good fun though, our friend lived and laughed about it.

Stephen once said that he couldn't even dive into a swimming pool. I know some people like this who are totally devoid of any sort of "body knowledge" or their spacial relation to the world. They jump in feet first cause they don't trust themselves or the thing they're doing.

It looks to me that they're using the garden hose to prevent scraping their bungee lines against the concrete; there's bungee cord running through all that hosing, so they're not exactly as insane as you might have thought.
