Please tell me this is meant to be a comedy piece or something like the mighty boosh?

I've been meaning to give this a go, but my allegiance to the Mighty Boosh and Julian Barratt has prevented me from taking the plunge.

This is the Mighty Boosh version of when Lennon and McCartney separated, except instead of Lennon writing sanctimonious, self-indulgent wank-pieces, it's Noel wearing gold spandex and a cup on his chin, riding side-saddle on a shiny unicorn in fantasy land.

I'm actually a bit over Boyle. Shock overtook comedy value some time ago with him. I'm not surprised he's been removed from a show like this - it's not his platform.

I admit this one is extremely bizarre but having just watched a pile of "Mighty Boosh" episodes it seems tame now!

1) No matter what she did it's not in the officers' rights to exact punishment. They're just supposed to arrest her.

2) Yes, citizens want to commit crimes and still have their rights respected. That's how laws and rights work; criminals have rights just like the rest of us. Some of them can be revoked or limited through due process, but that brings us back to point 1 -- she's not guilty of anything yet. The police can't make that decision, the courts have to.

The 15-year-old and her family have not been identified. The three-minute-long video starts with the girl having a fight in public with a woman who police identified as her mother. The mother has her daughter pinned to the ground in the parking lot of Charter East, part of the Ombudsman Charter Schools in Phoenix. The girl was reportedly intoxicated and sharing alcohol at the school, ABC Affiliate KNXV reported.

The charter school works with at-risk students.

The girl, wearing denim shorts and a T-shirt, fights her mother's hold, eventually getting up. The mother keeps trying to grab the girl, nearly pulling her shirt off.

When the police arrive, the girl is walking away from her mother.

Officer Larrison can be seen on camera trying to catch up with the girl. He picks up speed. As she turns around to see him, he body-slams her, sending her to the ground.

There are a few good comments here with a bunch of crap floating around them. Having just watched the video and browsed the article, I am going to boot this the fuck out of Science for shittiness.
As no-really pointed out, looking at the scientific output for nations where Islam is the state religion does not say much about the scientific output of Muslims in general. If we looked at the output for nations where some form of Christianity is the state religion, what do you think you'd see?
England + Costa Rica + Liechtenstein + Malta + Monaco + Vatican City + Cyprus + Greece + Finland + Denmark + Iceland + Norway + Tuvalu = England + meh.
England is the only real heavy hitter in there.

At very best, a reasonable argument could be made that there is a correlation between low scientific output of nations with state religions, but I'll eat a dick or two if you can dig through the confounding factors to make a solid case for that.
Point being, this video sucks, the article linked sucked too, and don't make broad generalizations about Islam and science without being able to back it up with scientific proof.
