At low altitude, wake turbulence is less of an issue than famous scenes from Top Gun would have you think. Also, the more dangerous form are the wingtip variety, which only really spring to life at angles behind the winds wings of the aircraft, not as much directly behind. Even so, he was bouncing about 6"-10". Air is a thick soup down on the deck, though, so lots of wiggle room for fixed wing, crotch rocket, jets

#7 on the list of videos that make me nauseous. Cool video though.

There's a group of 4 jets (don't think they are Blue Angels) that fly over DCA every so often. They fly in formation until they get just past the airport, then one of them breaks away and flies straight up into the sky until you can't see him anymore. It's really cool to see.

It's how the Blue Angels drive to work.

This was part of SF's Fleet Week last week.

Anyone in or around SF was treated to some pretty spectacular aeronautics c/o the Blue Angels or, as I like to call them, the U.S. Military's propaganda unit.

That was a lot of fun to watch! It looks as though the pilot wanted to run him through a few extras since he was such a champ at pulling through the high G's.

Oh wow, I'd absolutely love to see a demonstration of one of these live.

I just got back from the "Thunder over Michigan" show in Detroit. First time I'd seen a demo of a Phantom or a Mig, and I have to say, I wasn't disappointed on either accounts.

They also had an F-16, and the blue angels there with Fat Albert, and 6 of the 8 angels actually flying.

Gotta say, this thing looks like it'd be a thrill to watch do some aerobatics.
