Without the bear spray she might easily have been willing to take the time to finish the job, it's the best investment in the world if you like to walk in the woods (bears are common in rural Canada, sometimes even in small cities if people are feeding them). I've only run into black bears and never had an issue, a grizzly with cubs charging me would be a life flashing before your eyes moment I think.

I don't like seeing that either, but if you watch to the end they are actually in part of a larger area.

I'm hyper sensitive to that kind of stuff ever since i went to Beijing zoo. There was a really large enclosure, but it was really old, crumbling and in disrepair, cracks and holes in the floor here and there, all concrete, with one black bear inside pacing up and down by the only perspex window that was about 8 feet in length.

All the Chinese animals were in a special bit of the zoo - pandas and rhinos and all that, state of the art stuff. The 'rest of the world' animals were in the other bit that was old and poorly maintained. An American black bear was worthless to them I suppose.

Now even when i see animals in big areas, all i can see is that poor fucking thing almost dancing left and right for hours by the window to the outside. Really depressed myself writing this.

I left immediately and complained, but no one gave a shit or even understood.

It really depends on the type of bear, doesn't it? From what I've heard (never actually encountered one) brown bears are assholes and will chase you all the back to your house and try to break down your front door for good measure. Black bears tend to be pretty laid back, on the other hand, and will run away (assuming they don't have cubs with them). But Asiatic black bears... you don't ever fuck with those.

I know for sure that at least one of the growls was the bear noise from World of Warcraft.

Those hats are quite expensive, they're all made with Canadian Black Bear fur. I think they run about $1300 CDN, it's been a while since I checked.

SO uh....mom probably did abandon it or thought it fine, if it had been in any real danger of predators chances are good there aren't toooo many black bear
bobcat, lynx, cougar, or coyote in Hudson NY, river town (har)...smallish, quaint, lotta antique shops...cops with terse tones t'wards defenseless animals (probably bullied in school, hope he doesn't have kids). Why call animal control, free the little guy and let him loose back into the food chain, he/she looked fine innit?? Not like it was frikkin' choking on those xmas lights.
