The Soviet Union collapsed on its own without the US and its allies going into a bloody war against it. Maybe if the US had started a third world war with the USSR, it would have collapsed sooner. If you mean when they aren't racing, in F1 they completely dis-assemble the car bolt by bolt and check every piece for micro cracks and wear, rebuild the engine and transaxle, replace any worn part, and basically rebuild the car from scratch...almost every time. They also do experimentation with new parts and designs to see if they are worth integrating into the car. With the stresses these parts see in F1 racing, they have to be insanely careful to not put a cracked or poorly made part on, it could easily kill someone if anything fails.
Most of what wins races happens OFF the race course. I was an off road/desert racer, and it was even truer there. Just finishing in off road racing is a victory, and it's mostly due to proper preparation of the car. Being a lone wolf 'team' (meaning I had no pit crew, it was all on me and whatever 'friend' I could rope into helping at the race) it was pretty self gratifying when I was able to drive into the pits at the end of a race (as opposed to being towed or dragged in).

This illustrates the problem with using vague binary terms like liberal and conservative to describe political views. Depending on the person "conservative" can mean completely different things.

This is the problem with the two party system. You can't sum up nuanced , complex political views into two parties. It's stupid.

Republicans have a huge perception problem they need to solve. Many people view them as old, white, racist, plutocrats. I know for a fact that they are not all this way. But the problem is, there are plenty of people who identify as Republican who DO fall completely into that view.

Fortunately, old people do have a habit of dying. so that solves part of the problem. But some people have to be dragged into the future kicking and screaming the entire way. If the Republican party wishes to survive, they need to decide pretty quick how they're going to deal with that.

I think there are too many people who identify as Republican for romantic reasons only. They're obsessed with the idea that Abraham Lincoln was a Republican even though the Republican party of then is completely different from the way it is now and it is due largely to racism. As i've said before. All parties and lobbying need to be abolished. You can't stop people from assembling into voting blocs, but at the very least we can refuse to officially acknowledge them and do away with the RNC and DNC and remove money from our elections and force the person, not the party to run for office.

The government has 'reinterpreted' the constitution to belittle the 1st amendment's protection for peaceful assembly, so they can shoo away assemblers with permit requirements and arrests.

Meaning that the government can in perpetuity deny all right to peaceably assemble, by simply issuing no permits, and arresting all that try to peaceably assemble.
In effect, removing the 1st amendment protection in its entirety.

It's a brain dead job, specifically designed for brain-dead teenagers to come in and work their 5 hours a day, 3 times a week. Yes, a lot of people unfortunately work at fast food joints, but 15 bucks an hour? I used to work in a factory that recycles car parts and plastics, hard labour, and I only made 3 dollars more than some kid would be making flipping burgers. There's warehouses that offer 13.75/hour, again, hard physical labour.

I personally don't think a job that requires you to put fries in a basket and hit a single button that will then drop that basket for you, and raise it up for you once the fries are cooked, OR microwave / heat up a burger patty and assemble a burger truly requires enough time or effort to warrant giving them 15/hour.

Yes, again, I understand some people have fallen upon hard times and need enough money to survive, I feel for them, I've been in that situation. But the way to fix that isn't just to demand more money for what you're getting, it's to enrich yourself to the point where you can do something that DOES warrant a decent wage.

Honestly, the argument that "Oh, McDonalds has record profits, they should be able to pay their workers more" to me, straight out means i'm paying too much money for a damn big mac.

The minimum wage in Ontario is 10.25/hour (9-something for students)
