Accept or Reject New Channel: Arthropodology (User Poll by lucky760)

NordlichReiter says...

I'm late to the party! I called it Arthropodology because I thought we should have a channel for insects, spiders, crustaceans and anything that matches the description. But is was more tooled towards arachnids, and insects.

Sure we can call it bugs, or creepy-crawlies, whatever. I was just taking a stab in the dark.

On second thought, maybe bugs is ok. I thought it was two broad, when I was reading the channel name instructions.

Oh and "This vid is from aus, but it's a huntsman and you can get similar spiders in america." Erm, no it's not, those are American power points, silly things they are.

I think you need to go back and look at that video again. You can see the power points at the end of the video when the camera has been dropped. They're top left and they don't look a lot like the merkin ones, but look an awful lot like aussy ones. The accent is a hint too.

This is an Australian power point, the ones in the video are not

Regarding the video itself, that spider seemed pretty docile, the last huntsman I found in my house here in Australia was insanely fast, tried for a while to catch it to let it outside but alas it was R.I.P. Mr. Spidee as others in the house are freaked more than myself with even harmless arachnids skittering around inside.

Mass of Daddy Longlegs spiders clumping in a tree

xxovercastxx says...

Opilionophobia isn't a word and opiliones are arachnids even though they're not spiders, so "arachnophobia" was an adequate tag.

Outside North America "daddy longlegs" usually refers to other critters if any of you damn foreigners are wondering about the (mis)use of the term.

Jeeeez ant, what were you looking for when you found this?...and who but a wonderful geekazoidinal freak would do this to their coworkers, forever burning the image into their worker-bee consciousnesses??? That guy needs to ask for a raise or look for another job, however it went over that fateful day back in awt-nine at office 6Z7469 Core-Quadrant Tango.
