Kulpims gets his diamond; Dag and Lucky go broke (Drugs Talk Post)

kulpims says...

still haven't decided on the channel. I was really into aviation (*wings) but jonny reminded me we already have spacy for that. I like choggie's idea - *genius could cover iconic personas in arts, science, entertainment, sports adn other fields of human endeavour, interesting, talented people or displays of considerable skills and other amazing feats. something like that... what do you think?

THE GOODBYE CRUEL SIFT THREAD!!!! (Comedy Talk Post)

schmawy says...

Yes, they have a lot of convictions in what videos they post, but no, I don't think they think it's all s%&t. Most of Farhad's posts are in the 15-30 vote range I think, of somewhat limited appeal to the masses (I can sympathise), so getting a thousand of them through the siftpipes is an amazing feat.

I don't want to speak too much on the King's behalf, but he described the dawn of the Sift as a much purer place than it is now. Like that great little bistro that suddenly you couldn't get a reservation at. It was in a sense his personal gallery I think. There's a thread that runs through most of his stuff. I think that the idea is to recapture that original joy.

Channeling in (Sift Talk Post)

choggie says...

I like skills, for some reason-folks that exhibit amazing feats (which usually come with hard-miles of practice), always illicit delight from those less endowed-

Must agree with dag, go with your first inclination. That's what I did with EIA.....where is our karaidl, anyhoo, ...(hope he's not fucking up and going to college)

The wildwestshow was another spur (hehhehe) of the moment creation, between myself and another AWOL user....("oh raven, speak thee, where hast thou flown, is that the tapping, that rapping, that flapping round my chamber bone???"

-She'd fuckin' rip me a new one if she read that!!!! HHAHHAHHHAHA!
or have WMB kick my ass......

Dunno How, but MarineGunrock Eats a Sandwich in 2 Minutes!!!

gwiz665 says...

There have been many mediocre epics on the sift, but this is by far the mediocre'est. I congratulate you sir, on a fine job with that sandwich. Many before have tried and failed, but this was carried out in a fashion only the US military could have trained you in.

You could run for president with such an amazing feat - you fed the hungry - Jesus did that, you're the modern-day Jesus! Think about that.

Keith Olbermann: The NORAD 9/11 audio tapes

Constitutional_Patriot says...

NORAD has the ability to see trajectory based blips on their radar that are not using a transponder. These are usually highlighted on their radar screens as an unidentified craft. Dick Cheney was in control of NORAD by executive order just a few months before 9/11.

Confusion? - Yes...
Deliberate? - Unknown
NORAD Commander (Cheney) was in the basement of the Pentagon having an unusual conversation with an airman right before the crash in the Pentagon as reported by Mr. Mineta.

Was the Pentagon truly defenseless? Highly unlikely - details of air defense capabilities for the Pentagon are top secret.

False flag operation? Motives do exist according to the PNAC's desire for a "New Pearl Harbor" in order to expedite "their plans"(Wolfowitz,Cheney,Rumsfeld to name a few on the PNAC "think tank"). Pres. Bush used 9/11 as an excuse to attack Iraq and quickly abandoned the "search" for the "elusive" Osama Bin Laden.

We were quickly told how the "terrorists" pulled such an amazing feat off with extremely crude weapons and was supposedly orchestrated from a cave halfway around the world. 6 of the 19 accused terrorists are still alive today, so this story doesn't add up, among other flaws in the official story.

We want to believe we were told the truth.. that our government would never lie to us and commit or enable such a heinous crime, however many top level government and military officials have gone on the record protesting the official story.

Any logical criminal investigator would have to agree that the official story has many holes in it. Some evidence still exists but much of it was quickly shipped with armed guards to be permenantly destroyed in Communist China thanks to Rudy Giuliani.

It doesn't look good for this administration, however many people are refusing to look at the inconstencies of the official story.

Pentagon Crash, Digital Render from Purdue University

Constitutional_Patriot says...

I saw an earlier version of this one a long time ago. It's interesting to see that the aircraft never touched the ground until it hit the building. Flying at such an altitude for an extended period for a 767 is an amazing feat that very few experienced pilots can pull off. It's also lucky for the pentagon that it hit in the one place where it would do minimal damage compared to any other location at that building.

Bach on a double neck guitar

Primer - Trailer

codenazi says...

This is easily one of the best movies I've ever seen. You'll need to brush up on your quantum physics to really understand it... specifically pair production and virtual particles.

Also, beyond the amazing feat of doing it all for $7k, he apparently shot only 80min of footage (the movie is 78min long!).

The website has an interesting forum for after you've seen it, with lots of discussion and interpretation, which produced this massive spoiler which makes a great reference card for later viewings. It's a detailed study of one of the better interpretations of the movie. Do watch the movie first, though, as the spoiler really gives a lot away.

Marko Zaror - The Latin Dragon

choggie says...

One thing pretty impressive is the size of this guy with respect to the physics of his Kung Fu combinations-He aint no low-center-of-grav chinaman!

That viddy link that someone posted here with the monk doing the one-fingered hand stand??? I have that entire viddy-It is the first time they let cameras into the northern Shaolin monastery, with a view to showing the world what goes on in there-(1969-70) Much nore amazing feats than the old monk.

I like his flamenco footwork incorporations.

Firing a Bullet at the Blade of a Samurai Sword - Guess what happens next (2:15 min)

Devlin says...

The katana has long been considered the highest form of steel-bladed melee weapons ever created. The Japanese have one in a museum folded (rumored, anyway) 10,000 times. Only the Onin War-era katana were considered junk, with the rest having been shown and rumored to have help commit amazing feats through history (one historical account has Miura Yoshimoto using his own katana to cut off his OWN head in 1516). Either way, a cool video and worthy of note.

The movie District B13 is actually already out, saw it about 2 months ago. Has cyril and david belle. Its a french film, english subs. It was playing in select theaters around here in seattle. It was ok, good action scenes. which is of course why we watch This russian kid is very good. If you wnat to see other amazing feats of athleticism, should really check out more of david belle, the father of the sport, he does some pretty mind blowing stuff. Also, joe eigo is an amazing athelete who mixed capoera and other martial arts with breakdancing and other stuff, he calls it multilevelmoves, check em out, worth the watch.
