Seems t'me the Theremin will always be a novelty instrument-even tho' it's cool, no one can ever get a better sound from it, no matter how virtuostick they become onnit....the response time keeps it from ever sustaining perfect pitch-sounds goofy after a while, not unlike it's practitioners......*geek (dig that meditative space she falls into....)

I hope you don't mind if I *save this! This is really great and really needs to be on the Sift. C'mon Sifties, SERIOUSLY... it's Clara Rockmore, the great theremin virtuoso!

That theremin sucks.
He has a pitch adjustment knob (it's supposed to be another antenna) and the antenna is for volume, but it seemed to me that not only things got louder, but the pitch went up as well.

[edit] Turns out I was wrong -- it was an Ondes Martenot the first season, and a soprano named Loulie Jean Norman in the 2nd & 3rd seasons.

[re-edit] Hmm, the Martenot thing may only be a rumor.... very mysterious!

I've looked for a theremin cod piece but they dont stock any large enough.
