Spock At The Star Wars Attack Of The Clones Line
It would be even more hilarious if behind the blurred pixels, Spock was actually giving the Vulcan Salute but the clueless SW fans mistook Spock was flipping them the Bird.
How one NASA image tells dozens of stories
interesting video, but many of his same examples were in this 2012 NASA video: https://youtu.be/Q3YYwIsMHzw
Also, not to detract it's usefulness (and cool factor), but many people seeing this photo think that's how the Earth actually looks at night - it isn't. That composite uses satellite data from Suomi NPP's VIIRS sensor, which can detect much dimmer light than the human eye, and part of the compositing process was to normalize brightness of individual pixels (so dim lights get brighter, and bright lights don't washout adjacent pixels). More details here:

Even some cool night-time videos from ISS (example: https://youtu.be/FG0fTKAqZ5g ) are made using still photos with long exposure time (1+ seconds) See FAQ.
This did lead me to a live webcam from ISS that I didn't know existed: https://eol.jsc.nasa.gov/ESRS/HDEV/
Rick and Morty in the Eternal Nightmare Machine
I'm confused by the length of this. They're not exactly cracking jokes regularly, so why make it nearly as long as an episode? I could understand the video needing to be this long if it were someone actually playing through a game, but it seems to just be a really long pixel animation. Certainly well done, but I'm not going to watch 17 minutes of it...
These birds are soo METAL!
He's right. I can tell by the pixels.

Who's "THEY" ???
The fuck are you talking about, I do not recognize the phrase "basically erase" that's not the same as erase? "wash away" etc?

BUT AS USUAL that's not really what you believe, just what you've been saying.
I remember the cakeshop, I thought it was okay to do that if you were a private company?
Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission, 584 U.S. ___ (2018), was a case in the Supreme Court of the United States that dealt with whether owners of public accommodations can refuse certain services based on the First Amendment claims of free speech and free exercise of religion, and therefore be granted an exemption from laws ensuring non-discrimination in public accommodations
Remember? Good, right? A privately (non-gov) owned business can kick out and not provide service to anyone they want right? Conservative. The private businesses aka google and amazon, decided they don't like your nazi bullshit. AND you're glad they're able to kick you back to the 14th page right? It's their right to do so thanks to the new conservative SCOTUS yes? Happy? Dumbass.
IF YOU GIVE UP RIGHTS FOR ONE GROUP IT'S NOT JUST GAY WEDDING CAKES IT'S EVERYONE'S RIGHTS.
That case they argued was a free speech case. The bakery has the freedom to not display messages in the form of pixels on the screen errrrr frosting on the cake. Just like Google can choose to not display messages in the form of frosting on a cake errrrrr pixels on a screen. What do you think the rest of us were so pissed about? You're over there cheering on them taking away our rights and now it's come full circle. What? you didn't think it would affect your rights to say things?
Shouldn't have listened to that Golden Idol.
Yea but they can filter the results so they don't' show up on first few pages or even send to the last page of results, basically erasing them.
The Walk.
240 what? Pixels slope?
235 what? Elephant ball hairs run?
46 right angle what? 46 mouse penises rise?
No it isn't calculus, it's barely trig, and fuck you, my math is spot on...and they're WAY closer.
It's measurements we disagree on....yours suck donkey balls. You claim the stage floor is 4.5' high and the ramp run only 23.5' long....neither is close to right.
I estimated rise, 3' based on the width of stripes, and run, 40' based on the length of stage segments. That's 4.3 degrees. Do you disagree with the estimation, gleaned from pictures and video of the whole stage/ramp?
You can only be saying it's a 23.5' run and 4.6' rise, that's insanely off on both counts, but granted does give you the 11degree number.
The stripes are 1.5' high, the top of the ramp floor (and stage height) is two stripes high....stage segments are at least 10' long, the ramp extends well beyond 3 segments as seen in the full descent video. If you need to nitpick, it might be 35', but 11 degrees still puts that stage floor at 6'9". It's not 1/2 that....It's 3'. 3' rise at 11degrees makes the ramp 15' approximately....also clearly not the case.
It's Trump that makes himself look awkward, and his attempted bullshit excuses are just awkward icing on his cake of awkwardness.... it was not in any way a steep ramp.
Lol. Yes, they got it wrong by about 1.3 degrees. They should commit seppuku in contrition....
But you got it around 6.7 degrees wrong, and now are still fighting about it using unassigned units of measurement on values pulled from....measuring an off center picture from breitbart of 1/3 of the ramp on a monitor?!... to do calculations, and are clearly measuring it insanely wrong, or they altered the picture, or both.
Put 40' run and 11 degrees into the calculator, you get 8' rise, 35'run gives 6'9" hight. It even gives you visual representation. Do you honestly think that stage floor is 8' up, or even 6'9"? If so, you are insane and no math, picture, argument, or fact will change your mind, because it's clearly waist high, two stripes, about 3'. If you aren't saying it's at least 6' 9" high, admit you got it wrong at least to yourself, and let's move on.
No, they weren't closer. And you can't do trig very well.
Measure on screen and it is a 240 (hypotenuse), 235, 46 right angle triangle. sin^-1(46/235)= approx. 11 degrees. (I did well for several years at university calculus - but this isn't calculus).
Here is a nice pic you can measure. You'll get about 12 degrees.
https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/06/13/donald-trump-west-point-us-values-endure-turbulent-times/
Put your measurements and calcs up. It makes no sense that you are fighting this. They got it wrong. It doesn't make Trump look any less awkward walking down the ramp.
PS5 Demo
I'm a game graphics coder, going way back to PS2 and Dreamcast. This video overstates things a bit... Somehow, with a little bit of programming, memory is unlimited, bus transfer speeds are infinite, drawing 10,000 triangles onto a single pixel is worthwhile and doesn't result in swim, etc.
The real version of this video would have said that they have new procedural LOD and batching technology that minimizes the content creator's work to get into game at a good frame rate.

Congratulations! Your video, Curiosity Snaps 1.8 Billion Pixel Mars Panorama, has reached the #1 spot in the current Top 15 New Videos listing. This is a very difficult thing to accomplish but you managed to pull it off. For your contribution you have been awarded 2 Power Points.
This achievement has earned you your "Golden One" Level 213 Badge!
Curiosity Snaps 1.8 Billion Pixel Mars Panorama
Or as MSNBC calculates, that's $1,300,000,000 per pixel.
NASA definitely got their money's worth out of that rover...

Shine on you crazy piece of carbon. We are all pixels.

I think we need Captain D on this one. The pixels are all...differenty.
Paraglider Takes Flight Over Canadian Mountains
Also, the other one has more pixels.

In Saturn's Rings 8K (Narrated by LeVar Burton) 2018 Trailer
Japan is planning to film the 2020 Olympics in 8k@120fps and the cameras have been around for 3-4 years now. Multiple companies are working on 16k VR prototypes. 4k is generally pointless unless as I said you simply want "productive" realestate, or sit very close to the display. Because VR displays are so close to your eye the required resolution to match visual acuity is around 16k. My point wasn't anything to do with VR or games but rather the effective viewing distance from the screen(s).
"At 6 meters or 20 feet, a human eye with that performance is able to separate contours that are approximately 1.75 mm apart"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visual_acuity
6meters isn't a particular helpful distance for this argument but I'm sure you can do the math. 65" 4k display with 0.37mm pixel pitch would require a much closer distance to resolve the image properly. There is an advantage over 1080p but at normal viewing distances you won't be seeing all the detail of 4k.
source? i feel like there's a huge caveat to that. filming, editing, VFX, and displaying 16K is a long, long way away. 4K is already difficult and, honestly, rather pointless.
Happy Halloween 2017! And be glad you aren't his neighbor...
jesus christ some people have to much time on there hands.
I pretty much dissected each zone. It is actually not any feat of programming, but simply utilizing good video effects many people have forgotten about. Under the core of the setup, the lights are mapped in 2d space in a program and then a bit map image or video playing over it can control what the lights look like every second. This is the same software video billboards use (Translating a video or image to lights mapped in a 2d space).
All the person had to do was setup his video files. A very efficent way of doing complex video effects to a pixel based light project. What was great is I saw a lot of old Demoscene (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demoscene) stuff like plasma and color cycling. Brings back memories.
