New Spider-Man is half-black half-Latino. What, no Asians?

longde says...

I dunno; there are tons of well known asian characters and heroes in manga comics. They even made a movie of avatar airbender (though they swapped out the asian characters with white actors). What you mean is that you don't know of many asian characters in marvel and dc comics. I can think of a few off-hand, but not too well known, and hardly any with their own title. Xombi, a character from Milestone, has a title from DC.

How about you draw your own fucking art work instead of repeating the same shit over and over . I mean anima/manga is so procedural a compleat dipshit non artist with Parkinsons could draw a half decent original anima character.
I quite enjoy some anima but its mental how people get sucked into it its like a cancer.
are you better than a "compleat dipshit non artist with Parkinsons"? draw a "half decent original anima character".

Also i'm confused, do you quiet enjoy anime or enema?

I would make a terrible movie critic, I actually liked a lot of "Bad" movies this year, The last airbender included.

Maybe it's because I know nothing about the lore behind the Manga, but I found it mind-numbingly enjoyable.

However, I think the most fun I had was going into the movie knowing it was Shamalamalamalan and knowing his style. I actually couldn't contain myself and even said (in the robot chicken voice) "What a twist!" at the end.

Good laughs were had by all.

I guess I really didn't see any "bad" movies this year.

Good:
Harry Potter
Toy Story 3

and as before mentioned: Scott Pilgrim vs the world. I never -NEVER- would have expected my favourite movie slot to be taken by a Michael Cera movie, but it quite honestly is a movie for nerds.

Meekakitty Has Issues With Her Internet Provider

I watched this for a while because she is quite attractive and the video seemed it might have some potential to go some where and maby be amusing in content. but the more I listen to her the more annoying she became.

If this was an ugly guy presenting the video It would not annoy me so much if just close the video and forget about it , but what annoys me with this is that its another woman that on the face of it seems like they might have been a femail equivalent of angry video game nurd or that Brit guy that reviews the shit consoles. but then when it came down to it it just came across as contrived and forced. (despite the fact that it was well produced and edited which is weird)

The only Face to cam woman I know on the internet that's good is that russan girl that does atheist videos and really she is not that good but at last she is in the top % of people male or femail I find the russen girl easer to watch and listen to than pat condel or thunder foot.

I want to see more competent women making videos in subject areas that I enjoy , there is nothing hotter than a girl that is informed confident and witty within Sceince, Games, philosphy , computing.

Its totaly unfair that Girls that are atracted to geek guys have a huge number of people to gawk at and lust over , but men such as myself have fuck all.

Its bullshit , and then u have these womens rights people saying its men repressing them which is utter shit as anny dipshit can pick up a camara and make you tube videos.

EDIT >>>>>>

"although she is a bit crazy and random, though that can be somewhat charming at times." well that's a load of shit her randomness is totally contrived and not realy that random , its the kind of random you have when sum-one watches allot of manga and starts to copy the stuff they see in them.

That was such an awesome game. But thanks to consoles the time of such PC games is over.
Really sad to see games actually regress to a point where very old games like this has the superior gameplay.

I think actually what you will find is that the most inovatve games can still be found on pc.

the thing you see less now on pc are giant publisher cash cows , which more often than not contain the same old game play repackaged. something that i am not sad to see leave pc.

pc innovated in FPS in the late 90s and early 00s, pc games are now innovating in other places such as social gaming ultra casual gaming. I think pcs will always be home to developers like Frictional Games or independents that don't want to dip into funding.

I think consoles are gr8 fun , but the thing that pcs or open architecture platforms will allays have is this Testbed mentality where new concepts can be knocked out , before risk adverse publishers will back them and push them on platforms like ps3 360. granted u have psn and xbl arcade and indi but i dont realy think they are that viable for an indi as primary ditrabutoin platform where as pc and some of the new mobile platforms are.

any way , lol my point is I think pc will be the place where games as gr8 and revolutionary as home world will be spawned ( the majority of the time). and console will pretty much be the place where well tried and tested games will be found. at least in the western markets ,

in Japan they are far more open about having new and often totally mental ideas debue on console. I guess relative to the madness found in manga and animé its a safe bet for them , I also think cultraly they can easily separate core game play mechanics from the visual context.

What is disastrous however is that on pc we are now getting shit console ports constantly so i guess that aspect of pc gaming is pretty shitty.

oh sweet. I keep thinking I should try to catch up with that, but it's pretty daunting at this juncture.. I've been keeping up with one piece, but I'm a couple months behind, and I read the Berserk manga for ages until I couldn't find the releases anymore.. Haven't read one of those maybe 4 years or so. I always meant to get caught up on soul eater too, but again made it somewhere into the middle and just lost hold of it.

Good guess, but no, he's a new/old character. He's Tensa Zangetsu - a new, altered form of old man Zagetsu (?) or another form of Ichigo's inner hollow(?):

http://www.onemanga.com/Bleach/409/09/

He's so new that no one is quite sure what he is exactly - a higher level or second release of Ichigo's bankai maybe? Who knows.

And yeah, I'm a nerdlinger who has stuck it out this long for Bleach. Frankly I'm a little tired of it too, but I just want to see how it ends, which always seems like it's around the corner. Hell, they'll milk it out another 5 years if they can.

I need a life.

>> ^spoco2:
Starship Troopers I loved at the time, but increasingly like less as it's very pro military (And I know that people hate the interpretation compared to the book, but I haven't read it)

You should, it is classic science fiction in it's purest form. The troopers actually use these armored battle suits (WAAAAAAAAAAY before Manga got a hold of them) where they "jump" into a target area from miles away, drop a pocket nuke, then jump away just before it blows. The movie was a complete cock-up.

Anime Is A Prime Example Of Why Two Nukes Wasn't Enough

Pushkill says...

That's actually right on the money. The Anime/Manga and Film/TV industries of Japan saw a huge boom in terms of artists/directors in both Hiroshima and Nagasaki in the years following the bombings. The children who were very young when it happened grew up in a post-nuke society and in the late 60's and 70's began to express themselves and the dystopia-oriented themes that were happening following the recovery. A lot of the visionaries involved in the field who would be considered as creating that "strange Japanese sense of entertainment" had direct involvement in some form or another in the bombings. It's what happens when you grow up in a post-apocalyptic minded society. So in other words, the nukes are actually a large reason why these forms of entertainment evolved into what they are today.

>> ^gwiz665:

If you look at japanese tv shows, it's fairly obvious that the two nukes already screwed them up pretty bad...

Kirsten Dunst - Akihabara Majokko Princess

It's hip to hate on Japanese culture because the recent manga/anime/otaku/cosplay craze has peaked. It's just like KISS in 1982 - and Macs. (sorry for the obscure references to past threads. That's how I roll.)>> ^JesseoftheNorth:
I agree. Lighten up, people! I love you Japan. Don't ever change.>> ^kraun124:
I actually liked it. Not at all the comments I was expecting. Maybe she was just doing it for fun and/or she likes anime. Jaded-ism is getting a little cliche.

Since when was any of us saying anything bad about Japan? It's Kirstin Dunst and her god awful performance in this that's completely worthless.

Gee some people are touchy.
