No One Likes M. Night Shyamalan

I had a very similar experience to the beginning of this video. I saw the trailer for Devil for the first time when in a crowded theater just before Scott Pilgrim. The entire crowd was silent during the trailer until "From the mind of M. Night Shyamalan" came across the screen. It was then the ENTIRE crowd groaned loudly, and then started to talk through the rest of the trailer, obviously losing all interest. It was pretty funny.

Sixth Sense was a very enjoyable movie - as was Unbreakable.

I agree 100%, but what happened after those two?

Signs? Was very good, until the whole "water" thing.

The Village? Just plain retarded ending.

Lady in the water? UMMMM, I saw it but cant really remember it. (whats that tell ya?) lol

The Happening? i REALLY couldn't make it though 20 minutes of it, i lost all interest.

I think M. Night still has it in him to make a movie that is just as beautiful as his first 2 hits, but I think he needs some help with his writing.

Mark Wahlberg is the other thing people hate about it. And in general.

The Happening had the least ridiculous premise of all his films yet that is what people hate about it. The wind noises was the ONLY thing wrong with that film! Fuck anyone who thinks otherwise!

volumptuous... is M. Night Shyamalan to blame, or did the execs took a huge dump all over everything.
I'm just curious. Since M. Night wrote the script, directed, and produced it... I have a feeling it's his fault.

What?? No!

Beautiful dog, but I'm pretty sure that baby isn't asleep at the end.

"Siberian Husky Serenades Crying Baby In a Fruitless Attempt to Lull Him or Her to Sleep" was a more accurate title, but just wasn't quite as catchy, so I opted for the M.-Night-Shyamalan-esque twist ending instead.

#1 The Village, 17th century village living off I-95
#2 The Happening, plants create wind
#3 Signs, aliens invade planet comprised of 70% water, are allergic to water
$4 The Lady in the Water, never seen it, heard its AWFUL
#5 I'm sure one of his other films make a 5th

from the writer/director of the top five worst movies ever
Indulging in a big piece of hyperbole, I can see "The Happening" making that kind of list.. but he's got nothing else close to being that bad. I can see not liking "The Village" or "Unbreakable" - but they're middle of the road movies at worst. There's so many unwatchable movies out there that I'm happy to see something goofy from M Night, even if it's deeply flawed.
Just recently I just sat through "Easy Virtue" in the theater, and a few weeks ago we rented "Random Hearts". Either of those makes anything M Night has ever done look amazing. And those horrible films are still leagues above tripe like Boll (OK, maybe not Random Hearts, that was pretty bad). I've never understood what seems to be a very common, fairly baseless hate-on for M Night.
For example, I sat through "Lady in the Water" in the theater. I remember walking out I could hear everyone talking about how it was "the worst movie ever". But those same people were laughing their guts out during the film (at points that were intended for comedy).. and I laughed a good bit too. It was a bizarre train wreck of a movie, but it was entertaining.

Transformers/ GI Joe aren't the only shitty toy-based movies

I keep wondering if the Pokemon/Yu-gi-oh/Chaotic/Bakugan fans of today are going to be pissed off in 20 years when Hollywood rapes their childhoods for crappy live action movies.

Though they are getting it a little early with the sure-to-be-abysmal M. Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender.
