Just re-read The Eiger Sanction recently. Chills me to know that not too far in our recent past, this guy was certainly a dead man. Upvote for those in our species that decided to rescue.

I was thinking about that. I theorise helicopter + timeshifting some of the zoom sequences to give that dramatic fast zoom effect, and people already in place on the mountain, dropped off by the chopper. Pretty easy for a cameraman to hide out of shot near the summit, for example to run up and capture the moment when he checked his watch.

I believe that's the edge of Eiger that they fly straight up at 11:40.

The dupe seems to have slightly clearer/smoother embed.

Vids like this and the eiger para skiing one, make me have too look for my jaw on the floor.

My first video submission. I've seen videos of this sport before, but they were at ski Resorts. This is the north face of the Eiger, and the sensation of speed and danger sets this video apart from any other I've seen. Hope you enjoy.
