I agree, but I still absolutely love it. As soon as I finished watching Donnie Darko for the first time, I absolutely had to have the song. Truly haunting. And now it's doing the same thing to me again through the Gears of War ads for the 360 that are on tv. I really want to play that game now based solely on those ads. Whoever did the pr for that did a damn fine job on reeling me in hehe.

I love the Donnie Darko site (above) - it's one of the best example's of Flash development on the web (still, after several years!)

I highly recommend it, but if you don't mind spoiling it with crappy encoding and 12 parts; watch it (until it's reported) here on YouTube.

I can't put into words either: how good this film is, or what it's about (this Sift will give you a better idea!)

The Donnie Darko Directors Cut is better (includes the bits Richard Kelly was forced to remove by the studio for time reasons).

"Twin Peaks" was a cool show. Its soundtrack by Angelo Badalamenti is very distinctive. He has worked with David Lynch on other movies too. Certain characters and situations have specific theme music in the same tradition as John William’s soundtrack in "Star Wars." Also, Michael Andrews did a cool job with the “Donnie Darko” soundtrack, again with thematic moments.

“Mad World” was originally released by Tears for Fears in 1982. It was covered by Gary Jules and Michael and Andrews for "Donnie Darko" in 2001. The movie closes with the song.


I didn't know about this video until I was looking at "Donnie Darko" clips.
