Holy crap! Talk about attack ad!!!!

There are no winners in this sham of an election, they are both the same in terms of policy, they both suck.

I don't disagree with that. I don't like where we tend to put the blame though, on the politicians and such rather than on ourselves. It's our own damned fault.

TV News used to do some investigative journalism, and it used to be a loss leader for the networks and done for a public service to earn them the right to the frequencies they were offered free of charge. But with 60 minutes and others of the sort the networks learned they could turn a profit and examine more personal issues then with Crossfire and others of the sort they lost even the public service requirements which they had on broadcast.

From Vince Foster murder allegations to blowjobs, 911 conspiracy theories and Swiftboating, death panels, foreign born, communist, socialist, we took it all in and never changed the channel or turned off the TV, and it DID shift our votes and opinions.

The fault is with us. We bought all of the deregulation arguments which allowed our current media and corporate system, we kept electing people who would do it some more even as the impact of our prior choices should have been getting more clear, and we kept responding to and watching ever more extreme and confrontational "news" shows and ads. Any politician who even tried to play nice, honest, and so on was simply steamrolled over and we never bothered to notice. And now we complain that we got the system we asked for.

No argument at all, both parties and the whole system these days sucks. And it's our own damned fault. We watched the shows, we voted them in, then reelected them, we echoed every conspiracy theory and accusation, and we never demanded better. We had every opportunity to see it coming and people have been warning us about it for years. We just couldn't be bothered to care.

I was actually referring to the woman's parenting job as her son was being raised, not her responsibility as a parent currently when he is all grown up.
The argument I'm making is that she's done a shitty job raising her son, hence why he's being chased by DEA agents. This is different from what you guys have pointed out which is that her responsibility as a parent stops once the child becomes an adult and makes his own decisions.
She has no control over her son's individual will as an adult, hence she is free from the blame of her son's criminal activity. But the original argument of her being a shitty parent still stands. The role of parent has an enormous impact on the child's cognitive development and their career choice. And at the end of the day she must live with the fact that she has raised a criminal.

That's a very absolute view on the world which is rarely made up of absolutes when it comes to people. Her son might just be a shithead, or her son might not have been the guy they were looking for thus no conviction/arrest.

Why is self defense or MMA about being a badass? Football is far more violent for example. Are people trying to look like a badass if they wear football related clothing? I don't fight for fun, I calm people down so they don't fight. You are imagining a whole story out of very little information when it comes to me and when it comes to people's fashion choices. It pays to get to know people rather than just assuming shit based on nothing.

(edit) PS. oh, and threatening people is against the law. That is where breaking the law comes in...

>> ^KnivesOut:

"Why is self defense or MMA about being a badass?" LOL look at these role models! And no, wearing football clothing isn't the same thing, because just wearing your team's jersey isn't a statement to the world that you might tackle them at any minute.
FWIW, I've seen my share of guido douchebags adorned in TAPOUT gear posturing like schoolyard bullies.
Going out in your TAPOUT hoodie is telling the world "I fight, so watch out for me." In my book, it's basically equivalent to putting martial arts patches on your jeans jacket in 1988.
So what's up, are you training to be a cage figher?>> ^swedishfriend:

I didn't say anything about breaking the law. Open carry is just douchey even if it's legal. So is wearing clothing that alludes to you being "a badass". It's very eighth grade. You fight for fun? Nobody fucking cares. No one is impressed.
>> ^swedishfriend:
So if the cops are constantly threatening people then are they always breaking the law? Why do you think tapout stickers are an implied threat? You seem way to scared for no particular reason, especially of a word that implies self-defense and cooperation in training.

Open carry is an implied threat. It's like taking those retarded TAPOUT stickers to the next level.

Injustice in the Coffee Contest. Is this video about Coffee or not? (User Poll by therealblankman)

ctrlaltbleach says...

Is it just me or is all this talk about Louis CK eating at our brains? I mean we all know by now the man loves coffee he breathes coffee and at night he even shits coffee. I think however were forgetting the real victim here and that would obviously be Tiramisu. A name I couldn't for the life of me spell at gunpoint just four hours ago. Somewhere at the end of the 1700's Marie Antoinette uttered the famous phrase "let them eat cake" and that was just enough to enrage thousands of Frenchmen to fly around France chopping off heads. Just think if she had said "let them eat Tiramisu" then obviously from the addition of caffeine the quota would have been double and everyone's happy when we double our head chopping quota. Tiramisu and coffee go hand in hand she reeks of it. I mean she literally has her lady fingers all up in that shit! What is it all coming to people? What kind of world are we building for our children when the mere mention of Tiramisu does not bring the taste of coffee to our pudgy little minds to our greedy little taste buds? And when the smoke clears and ramparts no longer need defending from this whole debacle. Ill be standing Tiramisu in hand and when you ask for a bite I will gladly tell you good day sir!

Why is this such crappy quality? We've got cellphones that can record in 1080p. Come on people lets at least watch the deterioration of American Society in HD!

EDIT: Also where was this...my Police Department (Seattle) has the form online and you can submit pictures and video with it. Of course they'll probably delete it with some other videos but it's on there.

One Way To Deal With A DUI Checkpoint (Refusal)

Beefpile says...

I get what you're saying, and for the most part I agree, but I think our opinions differ in that I believe there is a time and a place for that and this is not an example the right time and place. Clearly, these cops are not "rabid dogs". This guy is just being an asshole with no provocation. A simple "no" and both he and the cops need not waste any more time.

It's important to remember that cops are just human beings, and like any population of human beings, of course some of them will be assholes, and yeah, those assholes need to be put in their place. But we have no (moral) right to make the non-assholes suffer. It's not their fault some cops are jerks. And this is my opinion, but I value keeping drunks off the road over putting random cops in their place. Make no mistake - DUI checkpoints like these save lives.

When they ask a guy if he's been drinking, they don't care what he says. They're just smelling for alcohol, and listening for slurred speech. They got that information from this driver when he asked them their names and badge numbers. Then they let him go.
Cops need to learn their place in society, and their role isn't as rabid dogs that you should fear and avoid for fear of a random attack. Nobody should fear the police when acting within the law. But for the police to learn their place, sadly, we're all, collectively, going to have to learn their place first, then enforce it back on them through this kind of behaviour. When citizens asserting their rights (including the right not to self-incriminate) is commonplace and cops get used it, then nobody will think this driver is rude for the exact same action.
If you think that this driver ought to be legally required to answer every question put to him by a police officer, then that's your opinion, and of no bearing, because for the time being, that's not the case, legally.>> ^Beefpile:

Joe Horn: Has Shotgun, Will Defend Neighbors (911 call)

longde says...

Hive, I would do the same, but this is far from what happened in this particular case.>> ^Hive13:

>> ^Yogi:
>> ^Hive13:
This happened over four years ago. Joe Horn was cleared by a grand jury in 2008. Both men were shot on Joe Horn's property and by Texas law he is within his state rights to defend his property.
Now, I am not saying that what he did was right or justified in any way, but, if two men ran onto my property after I personally witnessed them robbing my neighbor, I'd be reaching for a gun. I wouldn't be looking for a fight like this guy was, but I'd sure a shit defend my property.

No ones attacking property...they're taking it. If they had guns and were firing on your property then I'd understand. However taking your bullshit TV and knick knacks just doesn't mean a fucking thing which it comes to peoples lives period.
Now if you were say in a position where all you had was some food to live and they were stealing your food then I'd say you'd have the right to defend your life with deadly force. But this scenario would most likely have to play out in Africa or some post apocalyptic wasteland that people seem to wish would come around so they could shoot people on a whim.

So, I should just let convicted felon illegal immigrants with a vast criminal history just walk into my house and take whatever they want, in the presence of my wife and four children? What fucking planet do you live on? There are many people out there that would kill you and anyone in your house for $50.
The right to defend your property is an American right from the very beginning of this country. It isn't about property in the material sense....who cares about that? It is property in the sense that my wife and kids needs to feel safe and secure in their own home in their own beds.
In this case, I would have watched them from inside my home, called 911 and waited. If they headed toward my house, you had better believe that there would be one of my several guns in my hand ready to stop them from entering my house. If they did actually enter, they would get one warning and then they would get shot. Period.
If you don't live in America, I don't expect you to understand, but we have a lot of bad people here with bigger guns and no issue at all with murdering an entire family, kids and all, for an Xbox.

WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!?!? It wasn't his home...his neighbors weren't fucking there. They were absolutely NO THREAT. Are you just making shit up to get mad about or something?

Also yes I live in America, I've lived in some of the worst areas of Southern California. Never had a problem because this epidemic of bad people coming into your home and murdering you doesn't exist.
