Slumdog Millionaire - M.I.A. - Paper Planes (DFA Remix)
>> ^budzos:
I love how in 2007 almost nobody could see Danny Boyle's Sunshine in theatres because it only showed up on 50 screens for one weekend, and then in 2008 everyone is totally swinging from his nuts!
FWIW I think Sunshine is one of the best space movies ever!
I did get a chance to see Sunshine in theater, and thought it was quite good. Also own it on dvd now.
Another movie I saw in theater, despite zero advertisement/promos, was Equilibrium, which was awesome. (stars Christian Bale before he was in the batman series... not sure if he was a male-diva at that point in his career. Two thumbs up for any movie where Taye Diggs gets his face cut off )
And yes, I liked MIA's original paper airplanes since long before this movie, and the version they used in the movie (krupo pointed out) was fine too, I just don't like this remix. To each their own opinion.
Michael Cera Flips Out on Set
*viral *parody of Christian Bale's freakout to promote the "Youth in Revolt" film. Get it?
I hope you knew that.

So it's alright for Bale to have a bad day and go on a tirade, but it's not ok for a regular guy working on the set to have a bad day and accidentally walk onto the set. Got it.
Actors can do whatever they want on a bad day, everyone else gets verbally abused and fired when they have a bad day.
Regular guy? This guy is the Director Of Photography! As far as set hierarchic goes here in the US he is on level with the director for decision making of framing and lighting. The entire camera crew answers to him.
Wandered on to set?! The DPs behavior wasn't new, it was something he had been doing regularly on set and people were getting pretty tired of it, he has also done it on other films he has worked on. This DP has a rather tenuous reputation in town for being condescending to his crews and just all around not fun to work with.
So again, as I said before, CONTEXT people, context.

Colbert Does Christian Bale FreakOut! (w/ steve martin)
>> ^ziggystardust:
I'm surprised that the late night circuit hasn't been grilling Bale.
They probably understand what he was thinking at the time, though he did go a little overboard. His reactions don't seem nearly as unwarranted when you look into the context of the event.
(upvote for Colbert btw)

Bale Out! RevoLucian's Christian Bale Remix
>> ^youdiejoe:
I think Bale may have been a tad on the rough side, BUT, you have to take it in context.
If the DP is wondering in and out of your site lines while you are trying to do a big scene, I would say yes, give him a tounge lashing. Also, for the DP, you apologized... SHUT UP, stop adding on... apologize and WALK AWAY.
Most of us don't have someone recording our every moment and good/bad days go un-noticed by the general public. So stand back, enjoy the fun, but really... Do any of us really know what happened? Enough to make bold public statements about sanity? I'm not saying it was right, I'm just saying it funnier with a techno beat behind it.
The man, he speaks sense.

I'm with Bale on this one.
Have you heard the original recording? Bale goes on for ~3 minutes. It's quite excessive and ridiculous.

"... The scene in question, was a very emotional and tough scene between Christian Bale and Bryce Howard. A scene that required soul bearing and a deep level of immersive concentration."
My bad, I didn't realize we were talking about Shakespeare's "Terminator Salvation"...
