Cyberpunk 2077 - 48 Minute Gameplay Demo

Heh, I rather liked that line, but there's a rather nasty reversal in there if you account for Catholic school girls.

looks very Deus Ex-y.. which is a good thing.

Feels like they're desperately trying to be edgey though. I've no problem with violence, nudity or swearing, but they should feel organic to the world as opposed. "I'm cleaner than a c*%t in a convent"??? /facepalm

Making a model Steel Bridge for a 3rd grade project

TheFreak says...

Opposite experience: in 4th grade me and a partner were suppose to make a model church (catholic school). I had made stained glass windows with that fake stained glass paint - arts and crafts stuff, we had made brick walls out of clay on wood...for a couple of 10 year olds it was pretty impressive. Then my partner's rather insisted we finish it at his house. His father scrapped everything we'd done and made it himself in his wood shop, letting us do nothing. Thing is, he had a wood shop but he sucked. Made it out of fake wood paneling and it didn't even make sense. It was just a crappy looking box that in no way resembled a building. I hated that thing. His need to take over stole the creativity from children.

You might think what your kid makes will be better for your help and they'll be happier because of it. But what you end up with will never be theirs. Hope you're really proud of your grade school project.

I'm glad he got fired. He's an idiot and his company have the right to fire him.

In the case of the Catholic school teacher or any or @enochs other imaginary scenarios of people being fired for spurious reasons, no, they would be wrong.

Why? Because they are different situations. Context matters!

Bein fired for getting drunk and calling your boss an asshole? Fine!
Being fired for admitting to being an atheist? Not cool.

This really isn't that hard people. You judge each situation on its merits.

The ONLY difference is I'm assuming that most of us on VS do not object to artificial fertilization. You'll notice that I'm making the same argument in that sift as I am now. The school has the legal right, but that it's a shitty thing to do and that it was shitty that someone ratted her out.

The only difference is who is doing the judging.

Is it still fair that the woman lost her job? If it's not fair for her to lose her job, then it's not fair for this guy to lose his job.

Again, we're not arguing legal rights. That's not in dispute.

I AM GAWWD AND I SHALL JUDGE YOU AND PUNISH YOU AS I SEE FIT!!!!

I said that stuff as well.

I also remember eating pancakes at the church once or twice a year, apparently it is called Shrov Tuesday or something.. I just liked the pancakes...they were memorable pancakes, also the 50 litre Mcdonalds orange drink decanters. Singing "Thank you lord for bringing us life " and other songs. The church tried to get me.. I went to a catholic school because it was close ( I think that is the reason) and I broke free when I learned to rationalize.

Then I changed, it is okay to change. That mom is in serious denial.

Why does everything have to turn into a lawsuit though?

According to the picture of that letter to the teacher, religion is clearly not in the curriculum so the school backed the separation of church and state. So I don't understand why this is an issue. The letter seemed to imply that the school did not approve, but the video implied that the school board was behind him. (didn't get to watch all of the video though)

Flip it around. what if a teacher taught evolution or another religion at a catholic school? The teacher would be canned so fast. So why is it ok to push religion in a public school funded by taxpayers that has students of all/no religion(s) I don't care if America was 100 percent catholic, it's still not ok. The constitution is very clear on this. It's not ok to use a majority to squash minority rights.

BTW, just for the record, I'm really not a big fan of IVF. Why would you spend so much money artificially trying to add yet another person to an over populated world when there are so many kids that need adoption?

Due to a strong evolutionary imperative to spread your OWN DNA?

Sure, I get that people want kids and they want their "own" kids. I understand the reasoning behind it. But we need to use our heads here and get past evolutionary imperatives. For example, most human males don't force themselves on females or fight other males for breeding rights.

Well, aside from you only one person mentioned god. But because you obviously really want a windmill to tilt at, I'll bite.

"god" is a man made concept and religion is that concept in action.

It's a bit like asking why so many people confuse business and the economy. They're not the same thing but one cannot exist without the other.

And lol: Before acting in films and television, Wayne Pygram was a regular on the Australian theatre circuit. In 2005, he made a brief cameo in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith as a young Grand Moff Tarkin, because of his resemblance to Peter Cushing, who portrayed the same character 28 years previously in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.

Due to the brevity of his Star Wars cameo, and the makeup he wore on Farscape, Pygram's real face may now be known best for his appearance on the TV show Lost, as a faith healer named Isaac of Uluru.

Pygram has also played the drums in numerous bands over the past 20 years, the most recent being a band named Signal Room (formerly called Number 96) along with his co-star in Farscape, Anthony Simcoe [D'Argo]. He also teaches the drums at Kildare Catholic College, an Australian Catholic school based in Wagga Wagga. (WikiPedia)

How did the trip to asia go?

In reply to this comment by youmakekittymad:
hello all.

i'm david. i was a longtime lurker here on the sift before finally signing up for membership, partially due to prodding from RhesusMonk, who i've known since i was 10.

i'm 25. i grew up and currently live in new york city, and work as a ballet/modern dancer. went to college at Skidmore in upstate NY, got a degree in philosophy, and became the token catholic-school-surviving atheist of the department. after, i had a brief relationship with political work in D.C. (we split due to irreconcilable differences) before returning home and coming back to dance. the company i dance for is gearing up for a tour to macau, china in october which is pretty exciting, but that's about where the glamour ends. when i'm not being a gracefully sweaty mess, i spend time with my friends, work my silly night job, play video games, and work (slowly) towards a future in architecture, as, unfortunately, you can't dance forever and i'm not that far from middle-age for the field.

the sift is easily one of my favorite things about the interwebs, so cheers folks!
