Definitely sea lions and dolphins in mexico...time for a change of the ol' avatar. Maybe the coolest was a seahorse, but I didn't have a camera and no one felt like responding to my flailing limbs to come see...

In reply to this comment by Octopussy:
I saw a few of them (we were really lucky) last year at the Galapagos and they're indeed incredible (like a bus going by u/w).

Btw, don't tell anybody, but -- so far -- I've never managed to get a crab drunk, so my avatar is not my own pic either.

So what is the coolest creature you did have a close encounter with (and do you have pics)?

In reply to this comment by sharkie:
It's actually not my pic, sadly. As a diver I have seen a lot of cool creatures, but I am absolutely dying to see one of these myself!

In reply to this comment by Octopussy:
Is that avatar your own pic? If so, it's mighty impressive: where did you take it? If not, why did you choose a whale shark (asks Octopussy who has the lamest avatar evar)?

Once a video is declared "dead," no one except the original poster can fix it during the first 48 hours. Go look at the Dead Pool right now, and you'll see that it's not there yet. It takes 48 hours for a dead video to go there, and only then can anyone fix it. That's why no one can fix it for you right now.

It seems like a goofy rule to me too, but that's the way it is. Sorry. However you should have it back in 2 days. If no one else fixes it for you by then just contact me and I'll do it.

We're still friends.

Wow, Daily Motion is slow. I mean, have we seen 2 or 3 other Fey/Palin skits by now? Anyway, good to know that DM is that slow.

But why wouldn't you fix this for me? If it's just a matter of being nice and giving someone else a shot at a point or so, maybe I should remind you that if it hadn't been for your DM upload this vid would've been dead 3 weeks ago. That is, if you think you need my official permission .

Love,
Octo

The Good News: Did you know that there's a man named Jesus who loves you It can be fixed by any Gold star member (or above) with the embed from here:

I left this comment, so in two days someone should be able to fix it for you. If no one fixes it for you by then just let me know and I'll do it for a small nominal fee free of charge, because I'm so damn nice. Just ask Jesus.

Yeah, "enjoy" can be a relative term. I wasn't doing any serious research or anything--it just came to me. Literally. A friend forwarded the link in e-mail and I figured sifters might like it too.

To me, the sight of the pure desolation of the place illustrates what an empty argument it is--real, exaggerated or otherwise. I mean, it doesn't even matter if it's literally true--to me, anybody who presents that argument is beneath contempt and impossible to take seriously about anything. Except, yeah, F*ing VP candidate!</rant>

In reply to this comment by Octopussy:
Well, I cannot really say I enjoyed this. I mean, the mere thought of Palin possibly becoming the vp is more than any reasonably thinking person could take, isn't it? But I had been wondering (having access to maps, unlike Ms Palin and Miss Teen South Carolina) what she would actually be able to see "from her home", but was too lazy to dig into it. So, thanks for doing my research for me. Are you from Alaska or did you just happen to come across this vid or did you seriously do some research?

In reply to this comment by wazant:
NP. Glad you enjoyed it!

In reply to this comment by Octopussy:
Thanks for posting this. I know it doesn't really matter, but I had been wondering what/how much/from where one would actually have a view of Russia from Alaska (realising one couldn't possibly see it from either Wasilla, Juneau or Anchorage).

It takes a Gold star - 50 points - to embed from any source, so in the mean time you're stuck with the "sweet 16." Glad I could help out.

In reply to this comment by Octopussy:
Thanks a million! I'm still trying to figure out how many points I need to sift things that are not from the usual embedable suspects, but I always seem to get lost between al the ranks/chartered/power point-rules, so you really saved me here.

In reply to this comment by kronosposeidon:
Not at all. In fact that's I uploaded it to Dailymotion, because I knew YouTube would pull the plug on it. I lost my internet connection for a while and just got it back a minute ago, and I intended to tell you about it being on Dailymotion as soon as possible. Glad you found it without my help.

In reply to this comment by Octopussy:
I hope you don't mind my using your post on the Dailymotion-site to fix it.

In reply to this comment by kronosposeidon:
Bono is the king of Ireland? You learn something new every day.

And Amy Poehler's incessant blinking was cracking me up at the end!
