cloudballoonsays...This is Trump's America.
vilsays...And the proposed republican solution to the problem is?
How could all of the country look like this when half the hobos have already hitch-hiked to Nancy Pelosis district (according to the video)? That kind of alleviates the problem elsewhere. Are the republicans going to spread them out more evenly? Is that the plan? Will the problem be solved by helping these people less, so they die quicker? Is that the plan? Is there a right wing conservative republican plan on what exactly should happen to sick stupid dirty homeless people who dont give a flying f*** about anything? Will they be gone like magic by April?
Maybe letting them wash is a good start?
Dont tell me republicans are going to help these people more? What would Ayn Rand think?
newtboysays...SF has this problem so bad because it's such a successful city. Cost of living is at least double the national average, you're lucky to find a small one bedroom for $3500 a month there.
Because the weather is mild year round, transients never move on to warmer climates, but more show up in spring.
Housing problems there are largely caused by rising housing costs, unaffordable to some working 3 jobs. Many are lured in because you get more panhandling money when the average income is >$100000. I recall a few being investigated in the 90's who seemed to make well over $100000 a year by begging, one was estimated at $250000+. Thousands are working homeless, living in their cars because they don't earn enough to even share an apartment. Most make more than the national average. Keep in mind, $190000 is middle class in San Francisco.
This has been an issue in San Francisco and the bay in general at least since the early 80's when i lived there....but it has gotten worse as the population and rent increased but low income housing didn't.
Now Trump has said there will be no low income housing (which he thinks means all blacks) in suburbs, directing infinitely more homeless and low income citizens to cities in search of a possible roof over their heads...and in the same breath he blames Democrats for the homeless problems in cities.
As mentioned above, there is no republican plan to deal with homeless. None. They seem to think if you deny them services and food they evaporate. It doesn't work that way.
Pelosi doesn't control San Francisco, she represents it in the house. Derp.
What a dishonest tool. 1/2 the nation's homeless?! Bullshit. San Francisco has around 10000, America has around 500000. It's just more bullshit and *lies @bobknight33, not philosophy, news, or talks, and the only thing to learn from it is massive levels of misinformation.
siftbotsays...Videos are limited to being in a maximum of 7 channels - ignoring all requests by newtboy.
robdotsays...A typical definition of socialism is when government owns the means of production. When bush and the republicans bought a controlling interest in GM,the USA became a socialist country. When obama fired the head of GM, that.....was socialism. Feeding hungry people, isn't socialism. Helping homeless,or sick people, isn't socialism. Providing health insurance through a single pool. Isn't socialism. Your in a pool,,,right now.
siftbotsays...Moving this video to bobknight33's personal queue. It failed to receive enough votes to get sifted up to the front page within 2 days.
newtboysays...The Trump Virus and resulting Trump depression, paired with the GOP extortion plans to hold any further recovery packages hostage unless they get billions for the wall, billions more to rebuild the FBI building across the street from Trump's hotel instead of much better locations , and full immunity civil and criminal from any consequences from injuries and deaths caused by sending people back to work without precautions or safety measures, together these failures, these blackmail schemes, are poised to grow an already out of control homeless crisis exponentially in the next months.
Florida's governor just admitted his predecessor's administration, a current Republican senator, intentionally set up the unemployment system to fail, with as many useless roadblocks as they could imagine, the only purpose of which is to frustrate applicants so much they give up, making Florida's unemployment numbers better on paper. This system has failed Florida disasterously and absolutely caused hundreds of deaths from exposure while standing in lines for days just to apply, and must have caused thousands to become homeless.
