Me again!! Sorry to bug you but I found the answer to the dupe thing!!! Ok, so there was a video I killed when I first started after someone said it was a dupe (I didn't know I wasn't supposed to kill it)...anyway, it was always bugging me that I did that and I found it in my killed folder just now and called a dupe on it and the votes went to the original! So it's confirmed...discarded videos come back to life with a promote. Now I wish I hadn't killed so many of my vids (and discarded them instead)!

NO! LOL! I don't write down in a calendar the exact date I promote every video. Haha!! I just happened to remember that day because it was the day before I went on vacation and it's a nice memory I have of @BoneRemake and trying to bring that video of his back to life.

I guess I have been here a while now. I started March 27 2012! I hope after all this time, I've convinced everyone I'm not blankfist. Sometimes I like to go back and read that post. It always gives me a pretty good laugh!

You're welcome! I noticed it doesn't say "discarded" now. I don't even think there was an option to upvote the video at that time either...maybe you made some changes since then?? Hey something neat - I just remembered that I did that last promote EXACTLY one year ago - on June 7th! What are the chances of that?

Or rather the pq folder...I'm going to promote it again and see what happens if it gets 10 votes.

I tried that with someone's discarded video...when I promoted it, it promoted just like any other video, but after the 3 hours were up it went right back into the discarded folder. Would be nice if they could be resurrected permanently by doing that.

I'll mention to cdimetry that he should *isdupe next time then. Thanks for the info!

I was experimenting with that once before...I think you can do certain things with discarded videos that you can't do with killed videos. I think this might require more testing!! I'll let you know what I find out if I run across something like this again.

I was just thinking something else too...I know when I started here (before I got bronze) I couldn't *isdupe my own video but I think something might have changed with that recently and newbies can do that now. MORE TESTING!! That would solve the problem.
