How Road Barriers Stopped Killing Drivers
It was quick, but I'm pretty sure 11:56 answers a question I'd had for years, but never actually bothered to look up. Every so often I'd see a parked highway dept vehicle with a big, fairly flat object lowered to a horizontal position behind it. Barrier makes *way* more sense than any of the hypotheses I'd imagined.
There is a Hole at the Bottom of Math
I do NOT want to see what building Minecraft in Minecraft would look like. I've seen some of the redstone calculators and such and those are already bonkers.
Minecraft is Turing complete.
Radiohead's "Videotape" is weird and amazing
Unless / until the performers encourage it, absolutely.
Also just dont clap.
Ask a Psychopath - What is your background?
Very interesting. Wish they'd put a little more effort into the music selection though, feels like I should be watching an inspirational video of some neglected animal being brought back to health.
‘This is not a zoo’: Biden administration blocks filming
See, my distinct impression of the Trump administration's policies and actions surrounding immigrants at our southern border was that it... wanted them to fuck off and/or die. "Remain in Mexico" was abhorrent. Family separation was a humanitarian disaster.
What *specific* policies or actions did the Trump administration take or promote which should make me believe they cared? That they had even the tiniest shred of humanity regarding people who've suffered enormously and struggled to reach what they hoped *might be* a less shitty life for themselves and their children?
"Come in legally" is fine, so long as we live up to being the beacon of hope and freedom that we like to think we are. Which would require allowing in a LOT more refugees than the Trump admin tolerated.
Ever read the poem on the base of the Statue of Liberty? It is beautiful, and if the US can manage to live up to it for a change then perhaps we'll have made America great, for the first time.
Trump cared more than Biden.
I've always cared. Come in legally, so you wont end up trafficked and or packed in Covid infected cages.
So are you finally realizing Trump had a better plan?
‘This is not a zoo’: Biden administration blocks filming
Have you decided you give a shit about kids at the US southern border, Bob? That's fantastic, if perhaps suspiciously late...
IS CORN GRASS? RiffTrax
It was a classy move. BSR deserves a promotion.
I just want to express my gratitude for giving us the timestamp to find the answer!
The State Birds are Garbage
This is so much better than I'd anticipated. Go Conchy!
Also, I really like how the information was presented. It was clear, concise, and weird as hell.
Pissed Physicist says "Follow the Science" is nonsense
I think it's more a matter of pointing out that science doesn't provide guidance, only understanding. We should use information provided by scientific research to guide policy, but policy won't always 100% follow that guidance. As an example, if research indicated the best way to solve Problem X is using Solution A, but Solution A is exceedingly expensive, or will cause public outcry, or requires materials from a hostile region, then Solution B might be what you opt for instead. Practicalities may make "follow the science" a poor, or at least less viable option.
Isn't she saying we should actually follow the science to achieve desired results and ignore the uninformed opinions that twist it?
Larnell Lewis Hears "Enter Sandman" For The First Time
That video is just absolutely bonkers. I sucked at drumming, but loved doing it. This guy clearly put in his 10,000 hours and then decided he was done warming up...
Here's Larnell hearing a song sans-drums for the first time, and creating a perfect drum track on the spot. Even more impressive I think.

These Ponds Help Support Half The People On Earth
This "Pindrop" thing is new on his part, right? This feels like the first in a series, and I'm already pretty sold on it.
The Capitol Riot Explained
That's a damned good summation of the whole affair, and I may just have to send this to my right-wing dad. He's seen the world through a Fox/Rush lens since the 80s, and I feel this could be useful as "Hey, this is how *I* saw the 6th" rather than trying to explain it piecemeal and have to stop and discuss / argue about everything along the way.
The world’s largest organism - Alex Rosenthal
You're not alone.
That brings up an interesting question though: largest orgasm by mass, or volume? Inquiring organisms want to know.
OK. Who else read THE WORLDS LARGEST ORGASAM at first glance?
Flushing 240lbs of liquid mercury
I really want to reach into mercury sometime. I bet that feels *bizarre*...
That ending line. Dude is certainly not in denial about the hazards here!
Hexagons are the Bestagons | CGP Grey
My understanding is that bees actually use circles. It's just that the wax ends up warm and a bit flow-y, resulting in the circular tubes naturally warping into the efficient hexagon shape. The bees aren't making hexagons on purpose necessarily, nature just prefers the shape and is generally awesome.
